How is everyone finding hardcore mode?
Got to be honest, thought it would be more difficult than it is.
I tend to sit a fair way back and pick things off from a distance anyway, wait until night time sneak around a compound and take everyone that way with the scoped and silenced rifle.
My only problem so far has been finding decent supplies of any Radiation chems. Only around 9 hours in though.

i loved f3, it was an amazing game, one of my favourite games in years, but this just seems like the same game all over again.

Well, this is b****cks.
The game is great, I'm sure, if I could play it properly. My controls on the xbox are fucked, but only when playing this :S
The movement controls are supposed to be as follows:
Left stick = move around
Right stick=Look around
but for me it's:
Left stick=look around
right stick=move around
I've tried everything, swapping round the default movement sticks on my profile; even creating new non-live profile. None of it works. Anyone got any suggestions before I throw the cnuting thing out of the window?

Lol - you'll laugh but I've tried it, gave up as I looked desperate/retarded. Just stole my brothers hard-drive from his 360, recovered my gt and tried it that way...didn't work. FFS I give up.

If you opted to kill him did you pick up his gun 'Maria'? If I remember rightly despite it's measly 14 damage its value was 999 - can't be bothered to load the game up to see if its easy to sell but worth picking up!

Got round to actually doing something last night instead of wandering and collecting stuff.
Finished the Goodsprings quest, helping Ringo by outing the Powder Gangers, enlisting the help of Trudy, Sunny, Chet and the Doc (didn't have enough Explosives skill to talk Easy Pete around). Being a good guy
Also got his Caravan cards, and beat him 3 times to get the achievement. Beat Nash in a game at Primm, too. Pretty easy. Made my way down to Nipton, stopping off at an abandoned gas station crawling with Radscorpions. At Nipton now, noticing Powder Ganger members just hanging about on crosses. Nice.

28 Hours in, Level 23 . Honestly not as hard as I was expecting with HardCore Mode on. Could possibly be because the Sturdy Caravan Shotgun was stupidly OverPowered for an early weapon. Next time I think I might go Meleel. Leveling stats similar to FO3, Currently have 100 in Guns/Lockpicking/Repair/Speech/Science, Going for Survival/Bartering next.
Took me 26 hours before I'd even wanted to enter the Strip, want to make the main story last as long as possible. Trying to be "Good" this time around, Idolized by NCR etc. Got some pretty awesome loot from Vault 34. Stored some Weapons & Caps at my hotel room in Novac just incase someone decides to shoot me in the head again lol.
Just took out Benny and his Body Guards on the Casino Floor, How was he meant to know I'd secretly broken into the Bank and got all my guns back ? Poor Guy. Guy shoots me in the head and puts me in the dirt then expects me to side with him ? Pfft.
Currently got Boone and Rex with me, I wasn't keen on leaving them outside when I went to meet Mr House incase they were killed by his Robots or something. I got ED-E just before I left Primm, had him for all of 10 minutes on my way to Nipton and we got ambushed by Raiders, they blew him up :dapprove:.
Really liking the weapon upgrade feature too, currently rolling with only 4 guns to keep weight down for more loots, albeit 4 Heavily upgraded guns: .44 Magnum, 10mm Machine Gun, Hunting Shotgun & Sniper Rifle. The Ammo types were confusing at first but its good when you understand it and what each type does.
Also loving the new aiming, I can probably count on both hands how many times I've actually used V.A.T.S., Mouse aiming ftw.
Anyone else expecting some epic showdown between NCR/Legion/Vegas Strip President ?

Hi guys iam after a little advice, Iam thinking of getting new vegas for my 360 but i dont have the 360 connected to the net or have a xbox live account.Ive been reading reviews and iam aware of the bugs and glitches issues with the game so i ask is it still worth getting? as if i do get the game i wont be able to download patches or fixes ect?

Weapon upgrades are bought from vendors or found, If you buy from vendors they will be in the Misc Tab. To upgrade the weapon, open your weapons tab and press X (Could be different on your platform, tells you in top right of the pipboy), then select the upgrade.
As for Caravan, played it once, got bamboozled and decided Id stick to Blackjack and Slots. So if someone decides to explain the rules id be a happy chappy since ive got a load of cards in my inventory.
If anyone is stuck on the Reloading Bench feature i can do a brief guide if you like.

Reloading Bench
Writing this guide using Normal ammo, .357,.44, 9mm, 5.56, 12gauge etc. As i've had no use for Plasma/Laser weapons.
Each bullet you create is made up of 4 parts, A Shell/Case, Lead, Powder and Primer. There are 2 ways to obtain them, either by buying/finding or using the Breakdown feature. The Materials have no weight so you can carry as much as you like!
Buying/Finding
Cases & Shells come from 2 main places, Vendors and Your Guns. Every time you fire your gun you have a chance to obtain a Case/Shell depending on weapon, There is a perk which greatly increases the change to obtain them while using your gun, got it at level 18ish. Vendors sometimes have them available in the "Misc Tab" of their inventory, they are free from vendors.
Lead can be made from Scrap metal you find when your exploring, To convert Scrap to Lead there is an option at the bottom of the Reloading Bench menu.
Powder Can be bought from vendors in Bulk, usually about 5-10caps.
Primer Bought from vendors again, usually in boxes. Again in the Misc Tab.
Breakdown
Towards the bottom of the menu there are the breakdown options, very handy if you dont have one type of ammo but alot of the others. Highlight each of the ammo options and it will tell you what you will recieve when you decide to break it down. For example a 9mm bullet will give you, 1x 9mm Case, 12x Lead, 8x Pistol Powder, 2x Pistol Primer (Numbers from memory, not accurate.) So if your like me and dont use a 9mm gun, Breakdown all of your 9mm and you have base parts for .357 Magnum ammo minus the Cases.
Creating Ammo
Ok, so now you have your parts to create your ammo. Some weapons allow you to use Special Types of ammo, creating special types sometimes uses more materials (More lead etc.). You can find out how much of each material the select ammo requires (per bullet) by hovering over the ammo and looking at to the right of the menu. Select the ammo you want to create, click ok and select the amount.
You need the correct type of Powder & Primer to craft the bullets, for example Small Pistol is for 9mm/.357 Magnum and Large Pistol for 10mm/.44 Magnum ammo.
Special Ammo Types
As above, some weapons have different types of ammo available, these are identified by a couple of letters or word, JFP/HP/AP/SUR etc. Ive not used all of these but ill try to identify the differences of the ones I use. Not all Ammo types can be created, I still cant craft HP/AP ammo and I have 100 Repair/Guns and the Perk.
.308 JFP, Recipe gained when taking the gunslinger perk. x1.50 damage bonus.
MAG, Shortened from Magnum, used in shotguns and such, x1.15 Damage but x1.15 Weapon Degrading.
SLG, Slug Shot, x1.25 Spread for shotguns iirc.
HP, Hollow Point, Used to destroy anything without armour.
AP, Armour Piercing, Less damage overall but does more damage to armoured targets over normal ammo.
SUR, Surplus Ammo, Very cheap ammo from vendors, cheap for a reason, Normal if not lower damage and causes your weapon to degrade a little faster. I picked up a box of 5.56 SUR for 100caps and broke it down for materials.
You can check the stats of any ammo by opening you pipboy's ammo window and selecting the ammo type. You can change the type of ammo you are using for your current gun in this window too, or you can select your 2nd Hot-Bar choice to change types while playing.
I might of missed something on a couple of the ammo types as Im at work and doing it from memory. Ill have a look when I get home tonight and post if i remember anything else. I can have a look at the stats for each of my ammo types later too if it would be helpful.

Collected six Snow Globes. Sold them to *spoiler* for 2000 caps each. Then won the rest by gambling in the Luxe.

Have a look in Vault 34 Brun, some pretty awesome loot to be had in the Armoury, I made about 6k from that Vault alone. As well as some very nice assault rifles . Problem I had was finding the right merchants with enough caps to buy it, I went to the 188 Trading Post to the Gun Runners vendor and traded it all for about 5000 Caps and alot of weapon upgrades. Changing any $NCR or Legion Money for Casino Chips then Back to Caps could net you a few caps too. Just wish i'd known about that before i sold about 4000 $NCR to merchants that i cant find anymore lol.

Become Idolized in Novac and a sterling chap will give you the key. You get given a room in the Atomic Wrangler too, but when I tried to access my little storage thing it was red like i was stealing, so didnt risk it lol. Possible Spoilers Here: You are given access to the penthouse in the Lucky 38 if you agree to help Mr. House, You are also given the Penthouse in Tops Casino after talking to Benny if you agree to meet him upstairs.
I only use the Safe in my Novac room to store my stuff though. Got about 15,000 caps in there with a few of my upgraded weapons. Only carry about half my caps on me cause I dont know whats around the next corner in the story lol.
Snow Globes are hidden in different parts of the world, the Robot tells you there was one missplaced during the move in. Location spoiler: Coctail floor of the Lucky 38, Behind one of the tills that go around the centre of the room.
