What did I say to you when you bought it McTwerp? What did I fcuking say??!!!!

DO NOT BREAK IT!!!

I know I said it, because I was there when I said it.

(In all seriousness, I hope it's not an expensive fix. x)

LOL!

I wouldn't worry too much Gherk, the car has a sort of in built right of passage.

It tests the new owner for a few months, then it's mint.

For me, it snapped the metal (and bolts) on the top engine mount bracket out of the blue, the clutch went, the CV joints (both sides) died, the ac condenser got a hole in it, and the passenger door wouldn't unlock with the central locking.

Once I'd defeated that, it was poyfect for ages.

That noise sounds exactly like Zoe's C2 VTS.. Her's is the input shaft bearing and has been like it for almost a year now.

Its nothing major, the noise will just get gradually louder over time.

Put an early Ph2 or Cup box in it, tightens up the gearing by about 5% and still has the speedo sender.

Sadly only got one spare though and its quaiffed so probably going to lob it in the RB at some point.

I'd half like to do that TBH, however having a shorter ratio in 5th doesn't really appeal with regards to motorway driving. It's bad enough already.

Alright, I'll be in touch :)

Because I feel guilty, and I'm a nice man, get dan to get the box out and you bring it to me. I'll take it and collect it from agency and you can collect it from me. Will save you 2+ hours of driving.

Thanks for the offer, I'd prefer to save everyone the petrol and get it palleted though, as I haven't really got the logistics to haul a gearbox around everywhere. That's if Dan's OK with getting it palleted from SJM.

I do want a best cash price refund though for selling me a duff motor xxxx

You know what? I'm actually driving this slower and gentler than my 1.2. I don't need to give it death any more to get up a hill, I don't have to change 50rpm short of the limiter when joining a motorway, it's a real breath of fresh air to have a car that doesn't need to be driven hard. And the MPG counter is an excellent 'throttle deterrant'.

I seem to remember you saying there wasn't much difference between a 1*2 and a 1.2...

In a straight line or around corners? Because in the first one, there's no contest, in the second one, the 1.2 was actually better than this one, and at least on par with a normal 1*2.

That's why you're an awesome bald headed Bristolian!

Oh, I never said the acceleration was anything near to similar. The 1.2 was dangerously s**t. You couldn't overtake anything with it, that's for sure.

Dan, don't feel guilty at all because there was no sign of it when I bought it so you didn't know anything about it and neither did I.

Ha, shame we only had one little blip onto the motorway really but felt bad leaving the Twingo !?

I did think half way back, hmm MPG isn't enjoying this constant 4,000rpm and I bet this is stressing your box a little bit. I defiantly couldn't use mine on the motorway a lot.. however that Trophy was crazy loud!
