FINALLY Picked up my 172 Yesterday

Ive been posting on here for a couple of weeks already (and joined the club) but Im chuffed to say Im now the proud and slightly soiled underpanted owner of a new black 172.

First impressions are just the sheer speed. I drove a 1.4 Bravo before so theres obviously a slight diffence there! Im still running in at the moment so I havent really cained it but Im still impressed with the engine. I took my mate for a spin yesterday who has an MG ZS and lets say he was very quiet, and I notice him grabbing the passanger side grab handle when I hit 5000 RPM as that seems to be a bit of a powerband in 2nd gear.

Anyway top motor and one Ill be keeping for a good while I think.

Oh and my first modification was adding the cliosport.net sticker in the rear window so watch out for me in the west yorks area

Nice one mate ! i think a 172 is gonna be my next car , the local renault dealer are selling a nice blue 172 for 199 per month.

hi i work in leeds ,live in barnsley i may see you both!,blue mk1 172,the renault dealer in wakefield is pretty good over-priced at first but are willing to haggle big time,nearly bought a mk2 flame red,but saved myself £3000 and went for a blue mk1 with 11k,eitherway anyone thinking about getting one,just buy it..dont think.. buy!

172 gal yours isnt flame red mk2 with the v6 style rear bumper twin exhaust?? see one on my way to work sometimes,i work off york road at the blood service centre,come through colton,crossgates etc.

Im in the wakefield area. My girlfreind drives the car too so you might see her in it too.

Definately going for the hard run in. Not totally thrashing the nuts off it but letting it warm up and then regularly going to about 6000, and just pootling about inbetween. Gonna give it a polish in a bit, bloddy garage I bought it from left swirl marks on it! And its mucky anyway from all the rain yesterday

Its not mine youve seen, i DO have a flame red 172 though, im other side of Leeds, near Otley, guiseley...etc.

Maybe see you one day though!!
