First 197 Remap Results

[RSTuning]

Been on the dyno today with a standard 197 except an ITG filter.

It ran 185 stock and 192 after the remap.

The torque is up 20lbft @ about 2400rpm and levels out to give a nice steady 10-12lbft over the whole range.

The final torque figure is 154lbft from 143lbft so a healthy gain that will be felt on the road.

Dyno graphs to follow but not toinght as the MRS will kick my arse lol

Lol you hypocritical lot! You show me a 172 or 182 which produced the claimed bhp from the factory! I read about several members off here who were getting 160's from their sports so being down 7bhp on the new model is consistent with previous performances imo, in fact i would say that the 197 did very well by producing 185 on an almost brand new engine.

Also this is 1 car on 1 rr, need to get a broad range done just to see but even then it's not a great indication.

Powerstation's RR reckons my 172 has 183bhp with just an exhaust!

Reality is, going on other standard cars producing mor epower, it was over reading by about 7%, which sticks me pretty much on 170

the car drives lots lots better and is even more fun to drive now,
all the nasty flat spots have been smoothed out and it now pulls right from the word go and keeps pulling all the way through every gear.
even pulls away when cruising in 6th at 4k rpm without changing down.

the car has done 5,000 miles.

True, but the source of the problem is prob Renault's overstated figures. At the end of the day the remap raises bhp and torque over standard, and as the owner has later said the changes are evident on the road and in the real world, people get too hung up on stats and figures, its the improved mid range throttle response and driveability that makes these remaps worthwhile

Don't forget this dyno is known for reading on a slightly low side AND when renault get their figures (197PS) this is on an engine dyno with different exhaust and induction system. IMO 185 stock on this dyno was spot on. The main thing is to show the gains really the figures mean jack! Remember the 182 i mapped @ well lane? 186 prior to remap and 200 after! See dyno's lie.

However the torque did seem a touch low compared to other cars i have had on there. But like i say the main objective was to see the gains not the final figure. Oh and know that it makes a difference on the road

As with all our new maps... they can only get better

Glad your happy mate

If it's anything like the Megane due to the ECU been identicle they tend to adapt a little in the first few miles and feel even better after

When we have more time availible i'm sure we can further fine tune these!

Can't wait for someone to say a live map will be better as they will have a major shock

the power low down is great now.
before when i put my foot down from the lights there was a slight hasitation is the power delivery but now .

Thats a nice increase all along the rev range in both power and torque.

Looks promising, With a decat and zorst reckon it could actually push 197bhp.

I'm really starting to think seriously about a r27 when its out. This is cementing things lol.
