First car/clio

I bought this off my mate as he was leaving and recently decided it had some potential. It's only the basic 1.2 8v so don't want to do loads to it just subtle things nothing performance wise. May get a quicker model in the future.

I'm thinking of taking the rubbish plastic trims off spraying the wheels black, getting the plastics all black again. Tiny red line in the groove of the front and back bumper and lowering the ride considerably. Any thoughts or ideas please feel free to enlighten me.

Just started to primer and paint today. Got the grey on and it looks ok so may not go white... not sure yet.

Finished one side of the car today, just need to touch up on the bolts as tightening them has rubbed a tiny bit of the red off.

Going to lower the ride by 60mm when i can afford the springs on pay day.

Got the other side's wheels painted now. Getting some 60mm springs next month.

Personally I'd say coilovers if you want to go 60mm as springs will kill the shocks pretty quick if you plan on leaving them standard!

No more than 40mm on just springs

But nicely done on the wheels/bolts

Reminds me of my Saxo! I did a White lip and White bolts

The wiper came off in the winter due to ice! :/ and i'm gonna get coilovers but don't have the money just yet.

Got the springs now, and fitting them next thursday. Also gonna go over the wheels again with some more white. Spraying the front badge white too. ( how do i remove front and rear badges?) Also thinking of getting some Compomotive MO's in white in a few months.

Erm after lowering getting ph2 rear lights. Badges and "spoiler" going white maybe mirrors too. thin white line in the groove on front and back bumper. Clear indicator bulbs and clear side repeaters rear window tints. Just the cheap stuff for now.

Just a quick question, how do I remove the front and rear badges without damaging anything and is it and easy job? I can't imagine it being too difficult.

Watch the rear badges the pins snap pretty easy!

Diamond is simple though!

I'd just colour code the rear badges tho but a White diamond

Also just buy a sport shape spoiler

Got the new sticker through today so put that on, also took the badges off to paint white.

Excuse the filthy wheels, not had time to clean them yet.

Took the front diamond off

And the rear badges

Cleaned them up and roughed a bit for the primer to grip

Coat of white primer first.

Sprayed appliance gloss white, and lacquered. Will get some more photos tomorrow when it's light again haha.

Get the front dual optics and rear ph2 lights mate, makes a world of a difference! looking good so far, I've got the same car as you for my first and mine's quite far on, not updated my progress thread in a while though, look at my recent wash pictures if you like

Thanks yep ill PM you now about them.

Dual optics sometimes pop up for sale on here cheap (Got mine for £65) but on ebay their usually around the £90 mark, just keep a look out.

Should look at getting a dynamique model spoiler too then colour coding it like ive done, only about £30 for the spoiler and £15odd for the lot of rattle cans from halfords. Updates look good anyway.

Its pretty easy really, well the side strips came out fine even with my rush job of them my spoilers got the paint peeling though as the weather went bad during spraying and it stayed bad so I had to put it back on without laquer, will get around to re-doing it soon though.

Clear side repeaters is also a very cheap mod to do along with aero wipers.
