Fitting Cup Spoiler Bulb

I spent a very frustrated 20 minutes trying to put in a new bulb to my Cup spoiler;

Now is there a trick to this? Because it appears to be a right f***ing ballache. The wiring inside doesnt pull out sufficiently to plug in the bulb outside of the fitting and the connector isnt fitted solidly inside so you can simply push it in.

Now my thoughts are;

1) Glue the internal connector to give me something solid to push it in against. Problem I forsee with this is if I glue it in the wrong place then I really am fucked.

2) Somehow wedge the internal connection with a screwdriver whilst wriggling it on. I dont forsee this working however.

There must be some bulb ninja on here who can help me!

​Think i might end up extending the wires to make it easy. Either the connector should be fixed or able to pull out but its neither!!

I managed to pull my wire out far enough.
Whip the spoiler off (p*$h easy, 4 screws inside the tail gate, no trim removal necessary) and see if you can free up some slack. There's a second connector (round black thing) under the spoiler and also the washer pipe which just pulls off.
If you can get enough slack you'll have to unplug the second connector then pull the wire through, plug in your connector then pull the wire back again as you push the light in. If that makes sense...

Don't forget to reconnect the connector and the washer pipe before you take the spoiler off

When I did mine I plugged the light in and before pushing the unit back into the spoiler I tested it and it worked. Then I pushed it back in. It didn't work. Wiring faults are the best.

Yea bit of a pita considering LEDs are super reliable and everything.
Be careful not to snap your bank card. I used my work security pass thingy cos it's nice and thick (oo er).

@bozo it's an LED unit, no individual bulbs, it's a circuitboard with resistors and LEDs on it.

I just used a screw driver with loads of tape around it.

Cant wait to get this done!! Thought it might be as easy as the rear number plate light. No chance haha.

Did you pay for it? Because it is very easy. Even I can do it.
I suppose the only sticking point is you need a torx thingy to undo the screws.

In all seriousness, it was going to a specialist anyway for a lot of work so asked them to do it as well. They know what theyre doing better than me and I ran out of patience.

Ditto, took me and my mate about 4 hours to take exhaust off and put back on! I was about to set my car on fire it was pissing me off that much.

​I bought the car to drive it but the only mileage it has is 3 trips to the dealership here and a drive down to Taunton to see Dan@SJM.

This weekend I'm going to be attempting rear dampers and exhaust mounts with only a.. 6"(ish) long 3/8" drive ratchet.
I am also skinny as fuuck lol, I may struggle.
Acshuly I believe the zorst mounts were done just over a year ago so maybe they won't be seized, silver lining or what?
