Footwell lighting.

Hello, I'm planning on wiring in LED strips into my footwells, door open light on, I'm a bit thick with things like this, a lot of people say you can hack into the wiring down the left pillar trim, or would it be simpler to go straight to the reading light thing.
I'd also like a switch so I can turn them on if I wanted them on, how do I go about wiring this? I have read @ThomasBrentnall's guide but yeah as I say, I'm thick.

Will the things below be all I need?

Or should I use connecter blocks if I hack into the wiring under the pillar? Or is there a easier option than this. Hope someone can help I feel so stupid right now also where do I wire the switch?

Is that everything I'd need? What size fuse would I need? Cheers and sorry if you're all fed up of seeing threads like this
