Hope these help dude, I took some basic measurements for you from the hub face.
These are 15x7 ET38.

Also got them all sealed up with some KKD Revolve X. Kitchen makes for decent lighting, my Mrs doesn’t even bat an eye anymore. 😅

Love it, and I kept thinking I was crazy driving 40 minutes one way to get tyres fitted!
I drive from Maldon in Essex to Ruislip.
I’ve had too many bad experiences with so called specialist tyre shops that turn out to be useless.
I think it’s the biggest agro getting anything done on a car. Now I’ll only use Richard Maguire at Ruislip Tyres. 😅🤦🏽‍♂️

Christ. Chuck anyone £20 around here and theyll do their best.

Agree with it being a s**t job, especially as it's one of the easiest to do!

Trouble is mate. When someone’s best is scratching 3 of your 4 Porsche wheels which are £7k a set. You get a bit fussy about it. That was the best wheel/tyre shop in the area by some way.
Annoyingly I’ve got a tyre machine and wheel balancer at work but due to the nature of what we do, I can’t bring my car on site.
As you say, it’s a piece of piss job, all that’s required is a little care.

@gambit and anyone else looking to run these on a Brembo setup.

2118s ET43 with a 10mm Slip on PMS spacer gives 29mm clearance from a stock caliper.

X3MA ET38 with no spacer gives 33mm clearance from a stock caliper.

Looks like I’m deffo going to have to clean up my arches and make my calipers pretty as now they will be seen. 😅

Gotta say they look superb on the car even without tyres and lows. Appreciate checking the clearance. I think with a 280mm milled mounting Brembo setup and a 10mm~ spacer they should fit fine.

Even on sets of wheels that are not 7k it shouldn't be too difficult to not use a screw driver and wire brush to get weights off and use the rubber grippers instead of the metal clamps on the tyre machine.

Sometimes someone's best is just not good enough and it's better to go elsewhere instead of trying to have them fix it.

Three hour drive is a bit of a pain though!

Yeah i think you may even get away with a 5mm spacer for the Brembos. Brembos to me look like a rather bulky caliper so i think if i was going to go larger, id look at the offerings from AP, Wilwood maybe?

I agree, the quality of job should be irrespective of the value of the wheel. I take care of my things no matter if ive paid £50 or £5k for it, and id treat other peoples things with the same care as my own. I just find a good tyre fitter is rare as hens teeth these days which is a shame as we all need to use their services.

In the current pcp climate, I don't think many people care as they won't be changing tyres in their ownership anyway.

And to be fair, how many 'normal' car owners clean the insides of their wheels or actually take them off to inspect, clean and coat them? Couple of scuffs and scratches here and there will be filled by layers of grime and brake dust ;)

The sad thing is mate, youre more than likely right. I just couldnt do it.

The Brembos only because of the plentiful pad choices available and the AP's for that matter. I had a set of wilwoods and from memory pad choice is somewhat limited in price value terms and also the piston diameter and pad size of the wilwoods in comparison to the Brembos are smaller. Having said that if you wanted a smaller profile caliper to suit a larger variety of wheels without having to run spacers they tick the box.

Yeah I agree completely. That's what every garage says though, 'theyll do their best'.

I've tried 5 different tyre places, and 3 never damaged my wheels. One of those places being kwikfit.

Agree pad choice is a big factor. Just wish the Brembos were a cleaner looking caliper. Having said that, the stock setup with good cooling has never let me down unless it has crap pads. I have no issues with the Pagids fitted except theyre dusty lol.

I hate getting tyres fitted, the only time there hasn't been a f**k up is when I was stood next to the guy doing it.

Decide I'm going to get the alloy refurb place to fit the tyres when I get them sorted, if they make a mess they can repair it.

Good call if youre having them refurbished anyway. Thats what id do.

After the first place managed to scratch 3 of the R wheels i had all 4 refinished by Exel Wheels (who PCGB recommend) and 4 brand new Cup2s put back on.
4 attempts it took them to do the wheels and get them exactly right to my satisfaction as they're a 3 stage wet colour. Then a week after i had them on the car, i had a puncture in the middle of a brand new rear, i dont think it had done 30 miles!
So then i removed the wheel myself and made the 3 hour round trip to Ruislip Tyres to get Rich (a mate of mine) to do a £10 puncture. All because i couldnt handle the stress of someone damaging them again.
Arguably these are only £800 a set but i still dont want the agro of sourcing another and trying to match colours etc blah blah.
Cost is irrespective, we all work hard for what we have in life, and i just want someone to do a proper job.

So the lunacy continues as i made the 3 hour round trip over to see Rich @ Ruislip Tyres today to get the EVOs fitted.
Exceptional service as always from him taking the upmost care in everything he does. If you're over that way i can highly reccommend him, as a good tyre fitter is like golddust these days.
Approx 3kg per corner lost with these over the 2118s fitted and i have to say, so far im rather pleased. Ive fitted new EVO Corse motorsport spec extended lug nuts too, however on the front these consume the whole stud, so i may add some longer studs here to utilise the whole thread in the lugnut.

kept us entertained though buddy! Made a change from the ‘so today I fitted a new air freshener’ drivel the likes of me post In their project threads 😂

seriously I enjoyed the thought process, it’s nice to see something new on a clio that actually works.

On the subject of brake callipers. I have a set of willwoods. They came on the car and to be honest I’m not sure I would have purchased them as an upgrade but they do look good.

I got a set of DS1.11s for them from RTR parts. They aren’t designed for the callipers but with some cutting down they fit no bother. So pad choice is an issue unless you have a grinder.

Still waiting on my Turinis to come back from being refinished for the second time so they should be nice.
I think I’ve decided when they come back that I’ll be selling the 2118s.

This was on page 21.. A whopping five pages of dicking about that was! ;)

After all that I fully agree with @RustyMojo though, something new that looks good, hope they are what you were looking for!

Do the tyres look fatter on these or is that just the angle?

Hahah, some people would pay handsomely for "5 whole pages of dicking you know" :D

Ive only driven it back from Ruislip and into work so im really only going on first impressions. There are some country lanes near me with some quite agressive undulations, if you drive them *cough* briskly, you can feel the damper starting to lose control of the wheel and tyre. The car will have a skip and a bit of a shimmy. You feel yourself holding on to the steering wheel tightly to control the wheel mass from altering the cars line. Now you notice a significant improvment with lighter steering, more eagerness to respond to steering input and the damper isnt so out of its comfort zone. The car accelerates from standstill, even just pulling off with an ease it didnt have before and the whole thing just feels more responsive. I genuinely dont think its placebo either, its profound.

Overall im pretty pleased, only say overall as i could have gone lighter still, but frankly there isnt a wheel design that i both like and suits the mk2 Clio. Then theres the fact i do really love the classic 2118 aesthetic. Its a superb looking wheel that IMO suits the car so well.

I think youre right, the wheel design does seem to make the 888 look even fatter. Theres also teh fact that these are an ET38 as opposed to my 2118s which were a 43. So now we have another 5mm of poke which seems to really suit it.

The wheels look spot on, with that offset it does fill the guards nicely. I think it suits the car well and all that research has paid off.

frayz

Cheers guys.

Offset on them is ET38.
Rears have a 10mm axle spacer and the fronts have a 10mm slip on spacer. I may drop the front spacers to 5mm to see if it improves the steering again. If it’s negligible I’ll keep the 10mm. The front also has an additional 5mm due to the roll centre hubs.
