From 16's to 15's????

  Mazda 3 MPS Mk1
If the insurers decide to repair my car, im gonna be getting some 15's and gettin rid of my turinis.

Will there be much of a performance gain with the lower rolling radius??

will there be a massive difference in ride height, ie will i need to lower it so it dont look silly??

Oh and does anyone know what a standard set of turins weight??

Any help appreciated :rasp:

Theoretically you should get better acceloration with smaller wheels, and they'll be lighter. 16" turinis weigh 8.4Kg (not sure if thats with or without tyre) per wheel and 15s turinis weigh 7.5Kg in direct comparison.

As said in theory you should get better acceleration and save weight.
If you do downsize I would be interested in your turinis. What condition are they in?

Acceleration will be increased, turn into corners might be different, though doubt too much difference, and potentially could lower your top end.

the wheels im getting are magnesium so only weigh 4.5kgs...........

hence the change ;)

Are they 2020s? :)

Won't grip be slighlty less as well due to the foot print of each tyre?

Anyone had their alloys refurbed? I've got standard 16" mk2 172 alloys. No face scuffs but slight curb marks around much of the edges on 2 and to a lesser extent on the other two. They just look a bit scruffy and the finish is a little bit tarnished.

Ideas on prices? Anyone had good or bad experiences?

I just sold a set of 17" SuperT's, I weighed them to check out the postage cost, and they were 18.8 Kg each, with tyres on. I bought a set of Halfrauds own make 15's, I haven't weighed them to be precise, but they're a lot lighter than the OZ's, and it's a much better drive, less tramlining and crashing through potholes.
