Front wheel clearance issues - pics

Car  FRS
Ok so for a while now on full lock i've noticed an annoying catching sound, now i checked the front wheel arches for clearance and was somewhat shocked by the two differences, can easy fit the width of my two hands flat in the passengers arch, here's the comparison :

^^ drivers side, hardly fit a finger in there, any idea's as to why? Cant think myself, cheers!

Interesting... I've got a 2003 172 cup and its exactly the same... I was checking wishbones etc, took it for full alignment and everything is spot on!
Wonder how common this is!?!

this or completely shafted bushes moving around.

Yeah check wishbones over

My current Cup came with these fitted, it was hard to spot on the car when on stands too.

Also on the same car it had been left with a slack wishbone bolt which had eaten away at the subframe, the car was scary to drive above 50mph when I got it.

Mines the same too, even with the adjustable wishbones and full geo setup by pms.
but the car had been in a smash before i bought it. I did put it on the jig when putting the cage in so I know the car is straight?!

Quite easily done by someone not knowing what they're doing to fit cup wishbone one side when the car should have standard ones! Would do exactly what you're experiencing

Car drives straight and the castor is bang on, got the wheel alignment printout. Something must be wrong but it drives fine :/

my 172 with 182 cup wheels used to rub, standard suspension etc to.

Weird, I don't understand how the castor would be bang on if one wheel is noticeably sitting more forward in the arch than the other as that is basically what castor does afaik.

I'm not mechanic myself so I could be wrong, just I had 2 different wishbones on my old ph1.

When i bought it, it pulled left, i had new track rod ends fitted and it still pulled left, so i set all tyre pressures the same still does the same thing so yeah i think the biggest issue with me just now is why my wheels are sitting rather uneven!

Yeh I'm a mechanic and it makes no sense to me how it drives straight and the castor is bang on even tho visibly it should be different lol
