Fuel Economy in 1.4 16v

Went to Blackpool today in 200 miles round trip -got burnt but thats not the point. Got 49 mpg on way there and 47 on way back. NOT BAD FOR A PETROL HUH!!! took a lot of self control mind - inspired by Clarkson last week!!

Not impressed? oh i forgot to say got done by a pug 206 1.6 -v embarassing - bring on the new car!

everytime i put petrol in i think i will try 2 drive like a normal person and not ragg it all the time! cant help it tho, plus i have to give it loads to get mine to move!

Thats excellent I only got 80 out of my dci today on the way home but I didnt hold anyone back otherwise Id have cracked the 100mpg I recon

"dynamique" btw!

i get bugger all consumption out of mine, i basically just cant EVER floor it! although on the way to the gym (friday 11th) i saw 99.9mpg coming up going down a hill at 32mph in 5th without touching the accelerator (just let it roll and then put it in 5th wen the thing picked up enough momentum)

im guessing 99.9 is its max?

my friends golf (1.9TDi- red i) gets 200 going about 35 in 5th wen u do wot i did above! obviously as soon as he touches the loud pedal in the slightest it goes down to about 120 immediatly!

99.9 is the max the display will show Id be interested to know how accurate it it at those sort of numbers as speeds and fuel burn will be very low so the sensor might not be ever reading fuel flow.

I cannot spell for toffee BTW.

I had a dci one to way over that 99.9 barrier at 30 in 5th the car didnt like it but fuel economy must have been stupidly high somehting like 150 minimum by the speed it was shooting up.
