Fuel on a new shape clio :(

i have a courtesy car at the moment why mines in for some warranty work! i have put 7.50 worth of fuel in the thing now and driven approx about 12 miles since i filled up! the fuel gauge hasn’t gone up once the light is always on .... Not good! i only have about another 10 miles go go!! its a new 57 plate with 6k on the clock - i thought diesels were meant to be economical LOL

ooo you think so it ddint even go up LOL - i thought it would at least go up a little bit Ross... even the 182 would go up a little bit with that amount of fuel in it! :)
 
But if the car had been run to the bottom of the tank then you may have only filled a small amount and not enough for the fuel light to turn off.

I wouldn't worry about it, it's not your car and £7.50 will easily cover the 25 or so miles you need to do.

i thought that! must have been running on fresh air when i picked it up LOL thanks Nigel! i hate the thing!! little tractor!!
 
I had a Megane 1.5 DCi 106 while I was waiting for the Cup. When I took it back I commented to the sales girl, who's car it was, that I was surprised it only averaged 45mpg. She said it's normally a lot higher than that.:o

I'm seeing an average of 28mpg out of the Cup now.
 
i'm sure the mk3s have a bigger tank and possibly a bigger reserve, i think the reserve in my 1.2 is about a gallon and a half. leaving me about 65-70 miles in reserve.

does the 2.0 have a larger reserve?
