Fuel Pressure regulator on a 182 advice

I've been offered an adjustable fuel pressure regulator for my 182 and the lad will fit it since I know him quite well.

I'm not really sure on how these work apart from dump more fuel in. Its adjustable from 2.0 to 5.0

Has anyone used one before on a Clio, what pressure did you set it at?

Or should I stay away, sorry if it sounds like a noobish question
