Fuel Rail Cover Question

  BMW M3
Right... been fixing my car outside Halfords today (which turns out is expensive as i kept going in and buying more stuff lol)

Basically, my fuel rail cover was loose and rattled. After buying the long 10mm socket etc.. turns out that the right nut is not there and the thread has sheared off half way !! Is this signs that someones over tightened it and bust it?

And secondly, i could only find a 13mm nut in halfords that fit over the thread correctly and was wondering if renault remove the fuel rail cover for servicing as ive got my 36k soon ? Just got this feeling they will say they cant get it off... would they try different sizes etc or just complain as usual ?

Sorry for random questions.

Thanks

go into B&Q and get the right size nut.

my guess is they wouldnt bother removing it if it doesnt budge first time.

yeah, your probably right. If its too much effort to try a different size, they wont bother. More time wasted there then.

If a 10mm doesn't fit if they're half decent they'd go straight to the 13mm as its on the Scenics, I'd take it off or tell them when you take it in

Yeah, ill think ill leave it on. Its nice and secure now. And as tom said, i think when i take it in ill just get them to put a note about it on the service sheet.

Cheers lads.
