when i was selling my import 172. went to a dealer who didnt know it was. to see if he would buy it he was looking around it then comes out with its a import isnt it so
i say yes. then he goes i can tell
me. how.
dealer. cause its got different alloys
me its not there standard.
dealer. no there not.
me i can tell you now there standard
that went on for about 10 mins arguing about the alloys lol. didnt end up buying but boy was it funny arguing

When i traded my Ph1 172 in for the 182... the sales guy went out to value my 172.

he came back in asking about the bodykit i had fitted and if i would be removing it before i traded it in.

When i had a faulty cat on the 182 which i had already had replaced under waranty they told me as they have already done it once it will need to go to another approved renault dealer to be replaced under warranty they can only do it once.....hmmmm different lol

The first and last time I took my car into a Renault dealer was to them when my Air Con stoped working.

It took 2 trips for them to find the problem and a further 3 trips to put it right due to wrong parts or the wrong staff being in?

as i was told something similar by Allen Ford in Coventry

i wanted to test drive a zetec S TDCI, but they didn't have one so let me take out an ST as apprently it was similar????? :S :nono:

i wasn't complaining at the time as i got ago in the ST, but the bloke was talking crap!

I got a 2nd opinion. Turned out it was a £25 gasket needing changing. Robbin' bar stewards!

I took my car into Renault the other week to book it in for a 24k service.

The guy behind the desk told me that my car would be out of warranty know, confused I asked him why and he proceeded to list all of the things that I have done to the car ie,

Twin Exhaust, Alloys, Lowering, Body Kit, Seats. I turned around to him and told him that the car was standard, and his response was "There is no way Renault would do that to a clio it looks dreadfull". Oh how I laughed when I walked out and got back into my car after telling the service manger that he should really look at employing staff who have not just arrived from the zoo.

Clueless take mine to a small independent specialist now.

Me too. It was the previous owner who took it to a Renault dealership for the 36k. I had the 48k done at Rentec. Just glad I did'nt find out too late. Cannot believe how ignorant of their own servicing schedules they are!
