Cliobuyer, I know the situation all too well, and better than most, but as I said, both are good friends so I wont and will not take sides, it's for them to sort out, but people bitching and making derogatory comments doesn't help. I'd like nothing more than them to be mates again, but that's not up to me... but all this doesn't help... anyway... moving on lol
Mark, I see what you are saying, but building the steel BE is not all about simply making the car rev harder is it? I think you should actually wait and see some of the vids and power outputs on Andy's car, as no offense pal, but as Matt says, it's very easy to say it will or wont do this or that and I dont even pretent to understand it, hence why I'm happy to pay people like Andy and Ben to do the work for me. I know enough to ask the right questions and what I want out of the car, but for the technical ins and outs that's not my field.
Fred, I dont plan on keeping up with Yoz! lol. his driver skill difference over mine is worth at least 100+bhp as it is lol. plus the Yoz/Fred mobile is more tuned, setup for racing, mine's a bit of fun to annoy more expensive cars on the road. Let me get a steel bottom end and I'll gladly test it though. Let me just say though that this isn't the same car I bought, it's a fair bit faster and torquier (is that even a word? lol) than it was. In fact Yoz is up my way soon, if he bring it over I'll have a do down the runway and we can get some bridge tests going, 130mph is about where I'm sitting these days.
Matt, cheers mate, it is a bit annoying when you get people that think that because it's a clio and it's not turbo'd or whatever than it simply wont do the things you claim... so up goes a bit of proof and it's the other guy couldn't drive, his cars's fucked, or slow etc etc... he knows how to drive his Scooby's, he's had two already and even on the 2nd run where he sets off before the 3rd beep he still gets passed in 2nd... but I'm happy with the car, which to me is all that is important, if people want to pick holes, fair enough if it's someone like Matt who's opinion on these matters is worth a damn then I'll listen, as it will at least be constructive and not filled with hidden agenda and baiting.
Tom, he blew the last one up, well, the BE had some pretty severe piston slap, the gearbox was on it's way and the clutch was fooked as well lol. This one's only having mild mods on it, I dont think he wants anymore power as he only plans on getting a proper remap.
