Gen90 DIY mapping/calibration thread

  Clio 172 Cup
@Russ Rallye quick question for you as to whether you've managed to delete the UCH with the Gen90? I'm wanting to run a cartek power distributor with a digital dash and do away with the UCH, interior fuse box and relays. I know people have done this with Omex etc but can you run the Gen90 like this?

Thanks in advance!

The gen 90 is on a road car mate so uch etc all presenting wanted it as a simple plug and play. My race car is completely rewired, no uch and on Dta ecu.
Thanks

Thanks mate, appreciate the response. Had a scan of the forum and found this thread for posterity:

If pin 66 sees power when the ignition is on you can remove the immobiliser and therefore the UCH. Obviously, as you say, you'll need a custom set up to run dash, lights etc.

Cheers

Anyone know how to flip the TPS data in the software as it’s reading 250 with throttle closed and goes down with throttle open.

Thanks in advance.

Hello, new poster here. I have just purchased a 172 cup with ITB’s that I’ll be running in a hillclimb series. It has a gen90 that I want to put wideband on.

I have wired in the gauge and did what I have done in the past with omex/DTA. But now stumbled on the fact I cannot change the calibration value of the oxygen sensor voltage input.

I have had a search around and found this thread from Google. I am struggling to install the wideband aspect as the version of gentuner pro that came with the car, the GIN files only go to 71. Is there anyone who could send me the gin files for x84 and x76?

Thanks in advance

Looking for some help from those of you familiar with the Gen90 ECU and the conundrum of trying to connect to it.

Purchased the ecu 2nd hand, installed into my Ph1 after the pin swap and car starts & runs. Purchased a cable and software licence from ktec, received jist a cable and no dongle. Emailed them to ask if the licence is now within the cable only, after nearly a week they are still looking into it.

Downloaded tuner pro & tuner pro RT, I believe the RT is the version to use? Changed preferences to the serial port, selected COM3 as the port also. When plugging the cable in it comes up under device manager, lights flash on the usb and then go out. Still unable to connect to the ecu with it in the car.

Also believe I need a .gin file to use so tuner pro can read data from the ecu, would anyone have one at hand suitable for a Ph1 172? I see there is one listed for a cup when you google .gin files, also came across a list on the Gems website however nothing listed for Renault or Clio

One other point I noticed I have no rev counter, is this common for a ph1 running gen 90 or have I a dodgy connection somewhere? I see on the pin out list that pin 24 is the rpm signal from the crank sensor and this doesn't move between ph1 to ph2. Id also assune if there was a wiring issue it would also throw a crank sensor fault and not run?

Ktec needs to send you the usb license dongle, the cable doesn’t enable the license. It’s just a usb to serial converter with the right plug for the ecu.

They must also send you the .gin file suited for your gen90 firmware.

Don’t expect anything else from them, even having to send the gin file is a dramatic experience for them.

Btw, gen90 doesn’t throw error codes, so forget scanning for errors.

Your only option is to see live data, and try to figure it out for yourself. With a bit of luck maybe someone had a similar problem with the rev counter and post about it here in the forum.

Thanks, Iv chased them again. They were quick to respond to emails within the hour before I bought the software & cable and since the £250 purchase its 6 days between emails. I made sure to make this known to them. I wasn't sure if the licence was now incorporated within the cable or something different. Or they are just incapable of fulfilling an order correctly.

From reading up I need to access the ecu first to then see what version its running which then determines the .gin file required to match.

Done some digging with the rev counter issue and seems the signal back to tacho actually comes via the coilpack. I'll give all wires / connections a wiggle as whole loom was removed & refitted. Be a whole lot easier once I can access the ecu and see if its even getting a signal to determine where the issue lies. Away from home for the next 2-3 weeks so will have to wait.
