Welcome Stu, you've made the right choice :)

i hope this finance goes through ok, my insurance went up by 1600 :O

Fvck a duck your insurance went up £1600? What were you paying to insure the C2?

  Soon a 172 CUP
yeh lol, it went from £1259 to £1674 well 1400 odd lol
but im using the cash from the C2 to cover the insurance cost.

dont like the idea of electric throttle tho! same as GT that, its laggy as hell, and the hydraulic clutch bit point is very high. Clio isnt the same is it??

Nope its not to bad the Mk1 172 throttle body is manaul which I prefere but its not bad the Mk2 2 one plus you have crusie control on the full fat 172 which is nice.
Clio clutch isn't going to win any awards for longevity strength but its not to bad. There cable so very heavy (you only reaslise when you drive other cars but you learn to live with it and its about the most exercise I get) its not good on the foot for slow traffic though. Its usually very high depends though.

The throttle on the Clio feels far better and more responsive than the C2, don't be worrying about that.

i will try not to lol
the C2 has scared me for life lmao, it was a right dissapointment!
only had the damn thing 2 month and i hate it this much, i hated my saxo VTR and i must say, that to me felt better and quickr that my C2!

  Citroen DS3 DSport
My Saxo VTR was ok but I far preferred the VTS while I had it. The 172 I own is basically an improvement on the Saxo VTS in every way but retaining the fun it provided. More comfort, slightly better performance and a more solid feeling car.

  Soon a 172 CUP
so i will deffinatly 100% feel a big difference in speed and power over my C2 GT lol?

do mods incease the power much? like filter, de cat etc?

  Citroen DS3 DSport
If you don't notice a difference between this and your c2 then something is seriously wrong with you :D It's way quicker than the Saxo vtr and you thought that felt better than the c2.

  Mazda 3 MPS Mk1
There C2 is not even comparable, wuld you compare a Civic type r agains a honda jazz?? Nope!!

Christ on a bike your gona love it, just take it steady and learn the characteristics of the car, been too many unnessesarily killed!!

Enjoy :D

Decat helps the best modification hp per £ is the manaifold modification although gains depedn on how good the one is before. Its £130 or so i think grom Hill Power or BenR (angelworks)

  Soon a 172 CUP
the 172 cup dosent have sat nav does it?
also any 1 know where i can find specs like MPG and 0-60 etc..?

  Soon a 172 CUP
its gone up over the C2 GT by 1400 lol

its around 2400 now lol
but im using the money i get from all my mods to cover the insurance, i think its gonna be worth it.

I'm averaging 32.2 at the mo about half and half for motorway/short journeys. Reset the computer on the motor way and do 70mph and you are looking at 40mpg mate. Bootiful.

Interiors can be rattly due mostly to hard suspension but rattles won't bother you cos you will have a fat grin on ya mush!

The first time the VVT kicks in when you got your foot down in second then third - priceless! (On my private race track in my mansion grounds obviously)

my 172cup doesnt have any stage 2 VVT kick ? where as my last MKII172 had loads like a rocket at 5k

wonder if mine is chipped ? revs higher too and really rockets past my bro`s 190bhp vrs fabia where as my old 172 didnt get past

The variable valve timing. Not sure of the techy stuff but kicks in about 5000rpm - Ta ta, VTR. lol

I think you loose the 'kick' feeling when you chip it!??

My 172 definately has the kick at 5k rpm and from there onwards it turns crazy :) My old Saxo VTS used to do a similar thing and I loved it. It'll make you smile.

Rattles, yes. Altho my mate has a 53 plate one compared to my 52 and his has hardly any so i think the latter ones were a little better screwed together interior wise.

Apart from that and those odd suspension noises which literally ALL RS Clios have, you'll be laughing all the way to the red line.
And it clings lovingly to the road like chewing gum on a hot day...

Just watch it when the roads turns slick....the lack of ABS requires a bit more of a skillful brake pedal technique. That or hope whatever is in your way jumps out of it!

My car has very few rattles although I have noticed that the clear plastic covering the dash dials tends to rattle and vibrate. Is it possible to tighten this somehow?

The 4k kick is down to the cam and fueling nothing to do with VVT vvt only activated at 1.8 k and disactivates at 6.5k its nothing to do with any of the kicks the car has.
