Going rate (price) for supply fit Aux belt on 182

Car  Renaultsport Clio 182 ff
hi all,
whats the correct price for replacing Aux belt only on a 182, 36,000m
as waiting for two quotes...
(supply & fit)

cam belt seems to be anything from £250 to £800 ?

cheers

FF aux kit from Renault is £107+vat i think.

Book time is 2.7 hours to fit.

I did one at Christmas in less than an hour and half, back then the full kit was only £45 too!

I'm getting mine done on Wednesday for £150 inc VAt and labour from a Renault dealer - I'll name them if they're any good.. Local Renault specialist wanted almost £250.

I know I could get cheaper, but it's overdue as I'm at 38K now (previous owner had it serviced at 36k and Renault told him it didn't need doing!)

As lemonnobby said thats cheap, they havent priced up the kit. Either that or its just a belt change and they are leaving the pulleys (pointless imo as pulleys fail)

Ive herad of dealers telling customers that their belts look ok on 36k service

Well I checked and it's the full kit - I guess their labour must be dirt cheap! I hope it goes OK, this was the only dealer I called that really knew anything about the 182/172s. Aparrantly the Renault service network still shows the aux belts required at only 72K or 5 years, but they've had a fair few in who go by the printed service book instead and get them done at 36K.

well i picked up my car 1 week ago, which just had 36.000 renault service, owner told me the belt was ok, so renault did not do it, that's why i want it done! mind you he may have told them really... not to do it, as he was already paying for the service...

think the dealer has made a mistake.......... well if they quoted that, then guess thats what you will pay......

I am expecting at least £230 inc vat & labour if not more, will find out Tues... when i get the two quotes...

Yeah I'm almost scared to go now in case they turn round and say they've made a mistake. I must admit, I did confirm the price 3 times over the phone to be sure. They have both my reg and VIN number so they know it's a 182 with climate etc.

This is my my first Renault and I must admit it's a bit frustrating getting all this conflicting information from Renault themselves.... absolutely loving the car though ;-)

Just a thought, apart from the AUX and cambelt (or accessory and timing belt as it's described in the book) - there are no other belts that this could possibly be are there?

must say, this forum is superb, friendly people... i was chatting to a Renault Mech at the Westerham Meet Sunday (kent) first renault meet as only had car 1 week, so enjoy yours...
anyway he says, Aux belt is 2.5 hr job by Renault garage.

I agree about the chat and atmosphere here! I find myself strangely enticed by future plans of suspension and engine tweaks. Assuming I don't get the shaft on Wednesday, I think I'll be spending more time here!

well let us know what happens, you could be on Wednesday the luckiest clio owner on here.. with a small invoice..........lol

gutted i kew i should have done my belt a few months ago before renault but the price up, my cars only on 27k but it makes s light whine sometimes like its overtight.
