You didnt get a quote , bend over with the ky lol.. cost me £50 to get a cv boot done on my old 1.2 last year so cant see a 172 being much diffrent, would of done it my self but cv grease is f**king nasty lol so cant see it being silly money with the exhaust, plus if he's doing it for you cheaper being a mate & if he has his own garage then he'll have a ramp, Had my exhaust off in less than half hour & that was on axle stands!

I say £120/150.. any more find a new garage!

Oh, forgot to say the winner gets to pay for what my mechanic has just told me.

"You need new brake discs mate, cheapest I can do is £220 del'd + fitted."

So that's

£345 exhaust
£120 exhaust fitting + CV boot (lifetime warranty apparently!)
£220 brakes.

My bank = £0

Gutted.

This guy is taking you for a ride mate, brembo discs are £90 delivered for the pair not only do they work ace they also look smart behind the wheels .. & if he means pads & discs then standard from GSF will be no more than £120.. that is for the fronts though, rears have the bearings built in :dapprove: so £140 for the pair

I went for gen Renault ones for 220 fitted. They are the front ones and I need the car for the weekend so I don't mind paying a bit extra. the price includes pads too.

I got Brembo HC Discs and EBC Greens for £110 from Yozza and fitted them myself, easy way to save £100+ and better braking performance compared to standard.

(knows now the brake debate may begin)

I would of done something similar if Yozza was near me and I could afford to wait until they were delivered and then time for the garage to fit them.

Next day arrival on the discs and pads plus I get my toy back with a new exhaust and brakes tomorrow to play with
