Heat reflecting windsreen

  NEED V6!
Parked next to the trophy at work today as nowhere else to park....

Anyway on returning to the car at lunch i noticed that the trophy has a almost see through windsreen an mine is blue in colour an yu can't see inside it that being in the sunlight, does this mean that the trophy has'nt got a heat relecting windsreen, if they don't anyreason for this.

Same as the Cup. It means sat-nav actually works. Also the Cup steering wheel doesn't fall apart even though it's exposed to Englands ultra hot sun. The full fat (with blue windscreen) steering wheel does fall apart though so I'm not sure wich option to take...

Heat reflecting = poor sat-nav and a melted steering wheel (because the wheel sucks). Bargain.

i never thought of that.

i lent my mum my sat nav a few weeks back and when I first used it after her (in my Clio with heat reflecting screen) it's not been working.

All this time ive been kickin' off on her!!!

feel quite bad now.......and stupid! :dapprove:

  Mondeo TXS Bardge.
want a signal then put your sat nav in the small clear cut out int he middle of th window at the mottom, the hole is not tinted, so the toll road cameras in france can read your bar code pass thing, signals get through there.

also did you know you cannot repair solar heated windscreens because of the coating the whole window needs to be changed, and its a 2day wait for one. ( the guy from RAC windscreens told me that when my brother was getting his changed as part of the deal on his car, my mother confirmed she worked for silvershiled windscreens for 4 years before quick fit ate them up. i still wasnt convinced so i spoke to a neighbourgh who is a auto windscreens fitter and he confirmed you cant fix it, they dont tell you that inthe manual. lol

A lot of new sat navs have the sirf star 3 chipset which are a lot more sensitive than the older ones, my TT1 V2.0 will get a signal behind the 182 heat reflecting windscreen, it may even be getting a signal through a side window, which isn't exactly line of sight to the sky which is how it used to be to get a good signal.

It's hit and miss.

My Road Pilot doesn't work through the Clio windscreen, or any other glass for that matter, you stick it to the roof (receiver is magnetic). However my phone (Orange SPVM700) works though the Clio windscreen, it loses a few satelites, but still has a healthy "4 out of 5 bars".

morden sat navs are uneffected cause the use a better gps chipset

  RB 200 Cup!
these windscreens can be annoying for sat-navs - always have to try and squeeze devices on the dash to access that little clear patch at the bottom of the sreen! grr

Mind you my mates tom tom works fine just older model stuff
