help..i need some advice

right before i get into this i not asking for other peoples mpg results........
back in the summer i had a fastchip remap done(group n) all was well but ive noticed over the last few months the mpg has dropped a hell of a lot..im lucky if im seeing 28mpg,also if im at a standstill in traffic the mpg will fall rapidly even though im not moving anywhere sometimes it has fallen to 21mpg..i always thought that haveing the remap and running shell optimax was meant to give you better fuel consumption,mine has got seriously worse..could this be from the remap or is it something else...

If your at standstill the car is using fuel (tickover) but your not moving so you will be effectively returning 0mpg, which will reduce the mpg average. Also the cold weather has a temdency (from past experience) to reset the trip computer without notice or warning, this could explain the poor mpg readings? As ituses the miles done and fuel used to calculate, Using fuel at standstill and stop start driving and a mileage counter at 0 will show a very poor average mpg reading. Hope this makes sense?
