help - random wiring loom

right driving my car yesterday i was getting a very high pitched vibration noise when accelerating hard. I looked into this problem to find what appears to be two wiring looms/harnesses just dangling down behind my dash. Im confused as to what these are for as nothing has stopped working so it seems they are just spare but its strange they just appear to be dangling around freely? its not where you would plug the diagnostic computer in is it maybe?

o btw its a 2002 mk clio

Where abouts are they? There are loads of wiring in the dash area.

if its down by the pedals it might be there for vehicles fitted with clutch pedal sensors

right nope its by were the light dimming switch is. I have popped the panel where u can dim the dash and have found there are two looms both with around 5/6 wires on coming from the main wiring trunk. Is it possible its the wiring looms for maybe the esp/traction and or the cruise control. I know they only introduced this on a 52 and mine is a mid/late 02 so mayeb the wiring is already there? maybe not i dont really know

Do you meant he pannel which adjusts the height of the lights? ie the one down by your right hand knee cap? I know there is a spare wires in there with no switch etc but no idee what its for.

yep that is the one, i have two random looms behind it which dont plug into anything. Jusat found it rather strange
