help with 182 disks

I need some replacement trackday disks for my 182.

At a trackday in Anglesey I spotted some on a clio 172 which were grooved(about 8 curved grooves), according to the owner they only cost about £50 and looked the same as fitted to a clio cup race car which was there also.

Can anybody identify these disks for me.

The best I have found so far are a pair of Gpn N disks(no grooves) for £52.80 +vat from Rally Design.

Dunno about £50, but k-tecracing have drilled ones for about £150

Drilled disks tend to develop cracks when used hard, would rather stick with plain disks or grooved to stop the pads from glazing.

I have slightly warped my standard disks at Croft and am just looking for cheap, good quality replacements.

Why do you think you need uprated disk better to update the pads fluid and very good.

I have already upgraded the pads to Ferodo DS2500 but after croft I have high spots on the disk that is creating judder at the pedal.

tarox discs and pads are the way to go

he more than likey had ate power discs from ECP

Tbh i would go with Brembo OE discs, as they have a much higher heat rating, and a decent wear indicator system and can be had from around £50

Soory Ive got a 5 second memory.

You cannot warp disks realy what you have done is got the brakes hot and then when stopped still kept your foot on the pedel and the pad has meted to the disk.

Stick with the £50 uprated OE ones Tom has mentioned in my view.

The discs are imported from Germany, the make is "BREMTECH" and appear to be very good quality. On a 205 I used to warp big brakes every track day before I bought a pair from there and they havent warped even after about 7 track days.

If you are getting judder from pad deposits on the discs, and you know for definate that you avoid keeping the brakes on when you come off track, I would look at different pads. Mintex Pads are very good for not letting deposits on to the disc that causes juddering. Im not really keen on Ferodo pads but some peple find they are fine. Not a fan of Tarox at all though!

Avoid cross-drilled ones, as someone already said they will develop cracks, and for £150 they just dont make any sense at all, as they will DEFINATELY crack or at least craze. A lightly grooved disc can be useful though to help deglaze the pad, but a good quality plain disc can be just as good with good pads.

Edde, I dont keep my foot on the brakes when I leave the track, that is the first thing you learn.

There are definately raised sections on the disks which are not due to pad deposits, I have rubbed over the surface with a polishing stone.

Tom, can you tell me where to buy the Brembo oes from please.
