help with electric wondow not working please

hi i have a clip sport dynamique and my girlfriend a diesel authentique.Hope someone can help.My girlfriends 2004 clio authentique started with intermittent problems earlier this week and the drivers window has now stopped working altogether-unfortunately in the down position!
The passengers works fine from both sides of the car and its not the fuse.
There is no sound when depressed-the drivers just doesnt work.
Can anyone please please help us diagnose the fault and suggest solutions-rang kwik fit who fobbed us off to halfords who wouldnt commit and wanted £50 just to diagnose!

Motor - Replace motor
Supply to motor , but if the fuse is ok that means broken wire
Switch - Swap the one out of your car for hers if you have no access to a multimeter to check the supply to it or out of it

Thats a Start

Start with switch , then supply , then motor - cheapest first
