HI IM A NEW MEMBER JUST BOUGHT CLIO 182 NEED HELP FAST!!!!LOST 5000RPM KICK

HI JUST BOUGHT A CLIO 182 HAS A FEW STUFF DONE TO IT MATCHED INLETS, EXHAUST MANIFOLD, DECAT, SCORPION MID AND REAR, RS TUNER REMAP, HAD A DYNO RUN ON THURSDAY ONLY SEEN 174BHP AT THE FLY, THEY SAID IT DOES NOT SEEM TO BE PULLING VERY HARD AT HIGH REVS AND DID NOT FEEL RIGHT AT HIGH RPM LIKE THE CLIOS NORMALY REV, IT WAS OK ABOUT 2WEEKS AGO PULLING VERY HARD AT 5000RPM ALL THE WAY TO THE SHIFT CHANGE, BUT WEDNESDAY IT SEEMED TO OF LOST THE KICK AND FEELS LIKE THERES NO VVT JUST FLAT ALL THE WAY UP THE REV RANGE AND IS HARD TO HIT THE LIMITER BECAUSE IT FEELS STRAINED SO I JUST CHANGE AT 6500RPM, IT FELT SO FAST BEFORE NOW JUST FEELS SLUGISH, PEOPLE HAVE SAID MAYBE A VVT SOLENOID PROBLEM. NOT WORKING JAMMED, BLOCKED? OR A DEPHASER ISSUE BUT ITS NOT MAKING A MAJOR NOISE LIKE A DIESEL ENGINE, JUST FEEL ITS BEING HELD BACK USE TO BE A RIGHT ANIMAL ANY IDEAS PEOPLE WOULD BE MOST APPRECIATED WITH REPLYS CHEERS MATT :(

TO START WITH THE POWER FIGURE YOU ARE QUOTING IS PERFECTLY NORMAL. IT IS VERY RARE FOR A 182 TO MAKE ANYWHERE NEAR THE QUOTED BHP FIGURE.

IS THE RS TUNER REMAP A NEW ADDITION (THAT MAY HAVE SMOOTHED OUT THE 5K "KICK" SOMEWHAT?) OR HAS IT BEEN THERE SINCE YOU PURCHASED THE CAR?

HI ALL, THE RS TUNER HAS BEEN ON THERE A WHILE. BOUGHT THE CAR OF A MATE OF MINE, DID HAVE A GOOD KICK AT 5000RPM, I SEEN HIM YESTERDAY TOLD HIM TO HAVE A DRIVE AND HE SAID, IT DOES NOT SEEM LIKE IT WANTS TO REV LIKE IT USE TO. CHEERS MATT

  Whichever has fuel
VVT comes in at about 1800 rpm, so there will be VVT, you just don't notice it.

I'd suggest taking the car to someone reliable to get the timing checked.

I'd also suggest you stop using the Caps lock button because its really fcuking annoying.

you got a sliver 182 and the dyno chap said your brake light switch was faulty and that was your lack of power.

Clio's dont have VTEC, they have VVT.

So there shouldn't be a "kick", especially if it's been toyed with already

from the mods youve state, i wouldnt be expecting any massive power gains,

getting it plugged into diagnostics should throw up some faults as to what the issue might be if its sensor based.

otherwise take it to a specialist and have them look it over!
