Hi Spec Pad choice for track

after some decent track spec pads for the 4 pots on the track car,

i've tried EDC in all colours before and they have all been just okay, cheap enough, but not show stopping

currently on some basic road pads from a 1980's volvo that cost 15 squid and just happened to fit, total waste of space at cadwell other week so need something with a bit of bite

i've trawled the forums for the usual suspects and it always seems to point at DS2500 or CL RC6 pads for the standard setups

i can get the DS2500, DS3000 or it seems only the CL RC5+ in my fitment, so the question is two fold, one, has anyone any experience of any of those 3 choices in high spec calipers and if not then which are the weapon of choice for the track boys here on standard setups? are the 3000 'better' than the 2500 for pure track work?

any advice etc much appreciated (and by any i subtext constructive please, none of this 'sell that setup and get some standard on there, yada yada ;) )

cheers

Ben

I really like ds2500 but it depends on the application, they cant cope on my turbo for example.

Pagid blues are worth a look too.

I use the DS2500 and wasn't overly impressed on the last track day, we pushed it really hard though... I'll probably try CL's next but I'm no expert!

that's what am afraid of el chipio, worried they may not be up to it in the turbo, top speeds on the straights tend to get a little silly but I don't want to be backing off like I have been so far, I may plug for the 3000 or the RC5+, think the RC's come in at about tenner cheaper but both basically a oner

Coops, when we were ripping round Mallory at Nat Day in 2010, I was using DS2500's in the Turbo Trophy and they were spot on, admittedly I'm using Wilwoods but I had zero fade all day and I was hauling it up from decent speeds :)

What size discs are you running?

standard 172 discs, so 283mm is it? well brembro version of standard, so solid vented jobs

Danny, i'll have a nosey at mintex, see if i can find fit for the billet 4's
