How bad an idea is this?

  02 plate 172
I'm steadily killing the front tyres on my 172 (195/45/16 ToyoT1R's) and I'm looking to put some PE2 Michelins on instead. I've seen threads where folks are fitting 205's instead (mostly on 182's though) do they rub? as I've always thought that the 195's look a bit stretched on and make the wheels easier to kurb.

Also, the rears on my car are in fine shape, so if I had 2 x front 205 PE2's and two rear 195 Toyo T1R's would it make my car the tail-happy nightmare that I think it will? especially in the wet!

Yes. It'll be more lively, and you'll notice it but you're no going to go pirouetting into a field. IMO replace all 4 or fit 195's again.

works perfectly well. Just drop to a 40 profile and you'll keep a close to std rolling radius, and wont have extra sidewall wobble
