I always thought my mk2 172 would have an alarm but I lifted the bonnet the other day when the car was locked on the fob and nothing happened. Is this right?
How difficult would say a Toad AI606 be to fit as they are only £102 on the 'bay.
Lock it with the windows open and you outside. Wait 30 seconds and stick your arm in, if the alarm goes off - hey presto - if not, Toad Ai606 will suffice and then some.
Yours is most likely a import (as my 172 is). Nothing wrong with imports, but iirc they only came with an immobiliser fitted. Should'nt cost much to get a alarm fitted. I had a toad fitted to my Alfa 155 it was only about £150.
I thought it may be an import as in the service book there is some sort of dutch dealer stamp. Do my insurance company need to/already know about this?
I phoned up Directline the other day to tell them that mine was an import and they said it might make a difference but they want to know which country it was imported from - currently trying to find out - http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=65841
