How to get to the heater motor?

Hey guys,
Heating broke on my 182, so i changed the resistor pack which did nothing, as i was having a mess arround, i managed to squeeze my hand down under the motor.

When putting pressure on the connector the fans come on. I have a new loom but i cannot pull out the old connector due to the stupidly small gap there is to get your hand down.

How are you supposed to get to it? Its not an inner arch off job is it?
