...172 owners with your nice straightforwards five spoke alloys. My f***ing hand nearly dropped off today having given my Cup a spruce up for the first time since I got it!

Was only about 6 degrees outside and I was shivering like a t**t before I even got to the wheels...they took so long to clean with all the spokes, nooks and crannies, that my hands were physically hurting from the cold by the time Id finished

!

Any Cup owners with surefire tips on how too keep the wheels sparkiling with minimal effort?

If not, tis going to be a very painful winter...

wonder wheels 15.99 quality stuff.. use to use it on my BBS alloys that i use to have on my golf..

put it on alloys leave for 5mins then rinse

i used to polish my old wheels every so often. seemed to make them easier to clean. either that or just dont bother brakin anymore

Turtle wax wheel cleaner is pretty nifty for dislodging the dirt. You still need some elbow grease, but not half as much.

wonder wheels is ok. I used to work during the summer in between uni years as a valleter, one place being TVR and the wheel acid they used there used to melt the gloves. If you had a cut in your had it stung like anything

Spray em with sum kind of wheel cleaner and use a paintbrush (3" or something). works ok for me

I gave mine a good clean inside and out today, absolutely spotless now

Ive got 17" turinis so know what you mean about what a b**ch they are to clean, i found the best way is to invest in a power washer, a quick blast on each rim, wipe with a sponge and theyre as good as new!!

I used to have a Fiesta Zetec-S and that used to take ages to clean the wheels....I now have 5 spokes on my BMW and they take about 2 minutes each...heaven!

I have OZ Super Ts and although I dont do this, I thought it might work for you lazy folk!!

If the weather is cold, put on some thin latex gloves to keep your hands dry, then put some old woollen gloves over them and swish them around in the warm soapy water and using the fingers, you should be able to clean both sides of the spokes and poke the fingers into the nooks and crannies too.

Cup wheels aint that bad as there aint loads of spokes and theres a decent gap between them...

Just use a sponge, then get on old tooth brush to get the tricky bits.

Washed mine last night and used hot water, took ages but didnt get that cold. Turned around and noticed the water on the road had frozen solid (discovered it was -1 at 4pm) place was like an ice rink

Had to go and get some salt.

Still the cars spotless!

Wax, wax and more wax. Get them waxed up nicely, and the dirt just rinses off. Top up the wax occasionally. Doesnt even have to be wheel wax. I use the TW Extreme that I had left when I bought Megs for the bodywork.

I used to use wonder wheels and have changed to COMMA car cleaning gear, its so much better and comes in a spray. Get a brush and scrub, this way you dont even need to get your hands wet.

i dont have too much bother cleaning the wheels, just hot water and big sponge, occasionally put the wonder wheels on just wish it ws a bloody spray.

Same here, spray liberally and then wash off. Go over them with a sponge to make them super spotless.

i cleaned my car yesterday... had too keep taking a break every 5 mins! my hands went numb, so ran in doors and run under hotw*ter! then went back! hehe

i didnt bother with the chamois that much, just a quick once over, couldnt bear it!
