I paid £6900 for my 02 172

Right i paid this for my black 172 from robert smith car sales in penarth. They are an MG dealer. It is literally in show room condition with only 25k on the clock Mot certificates prove it has only covered 2k in the last year. Is this a good price? I was happy but what do you guys think. It is a MK2 sport on an 02 plate.

i jus bought an 02 plate, mint condition, 38k on the clock for £5k. Had to travel 125 miles to get it like. aslong as your happy and can afford it mate thats all that matters, and yours is very low milage for its age.

Yes i have a 12 moth warranty with the garage. I had a £600 lifetime warranty for free full MOT, Full service, MOT and Service next year and 12 months tax all included in the price

Personally i dont look at mileage that much now plus hope its had its cam belt done (due on age) and £600 job at dealers

dude i paid 6800 for my 02 plate last July with 20k on it. make of that what you will! I got a 6 month warranty included, but it wasn't worth the paper it was written on when I found out the cam dephaser was faulty :dapprove:

It was a bit pricey but that's main dealers for you. If it's mint and comes with warranty and all those other extra bits, don't lose too much sleep over it.

i paid 7000 for my 172! 53 plate! 12k on clock, part exed on my other clio! as long as your happy! and its in good cond! but i think mine was a right bargin! so i dont think you did too bad!

u could of had my 54 182 for 7300 38k fully serviced and mint

6400 I paid last march with 22k on it for an 02.

If like mine u will make good use out of that warranty, miles means f all to me now. in one yr mine done 3k the car simply wasnt bein used then along comes big iain and satrts usin it properley and it doesnt like it!!!

Only the engine block to be replaced everything else has been.

bought mine yesterday 02 172 48k full mot,6 months tax £5800 with 3 months warranty i think u should of got a 182 04 for that money i think u will realise when u decide to sell how much of a loss u will make in my opinion.

The cars going to be a bit of an ongoing project so im going to lose moneywhatever happens and im not really in to private purchases. There is no way i would have got a 182 for less than £9,000 in similar condition where i live

welcome to the club! youll have to come along to some meets this summer.
Im selling my 172 at the moment - wish Id known you were after one - only live in culverhouse cross!
Theres loads of 172's and 182's round here for sale but I guess as you bought from a dealer you would always pay more for a car plus to have the warranty is quite nice as well.
Hope you enjoy it - youll have to bring it up one day for me to have a look at.
