I Wheely need your opinion....

Ok, so at current I've got an OMP, suede, dished w

heel, and I don't like how it is wearing away and I'm not overly keen on the dish....

I've narrowed it down to one of two wheels....

The OMP GP:

and

The OMP Trecento

The GP is a bit cheaper but nothing radical.

Now the differences:

The GP is 330mm, the Trecento 300mm (I kind of fancy a smaller wheel but I'm unsure, will 300mm be too little?)

Both will be polyurethane

The GP seems to have weird ratio's? Does the "top" look too small? i.e not central? Where as the Trecento seems well proportioned?

The GP has perforated material around the grips? (do I actually care?)

Ok, so I know this thread is tarty/needy, but none of my RL friends are geeky enough to help me decide.

The OMP Trecento :approve:

It looks alot like mine except mines suede.

It's a nice wheel though :)

Suede does my head it, bloody stuff!!!

I think it's looking like it'll be the Trecento! Don't want to be paying for full leather though, replica suits me fine!

I do hope you're joking Steve!? That's my bloody wheel in your garage!!! Cheeky sod :p

I was going to go OEM, but after driving around with the aftermarket one and getting back in a normal Clio, the wheel felt pants!

I've got an OEM one you can have for nothing if needed. It's Donald Ducked though..

Stick with the suede, mate. No matter how it wears.

Sabelt.

Other wheels look ghey.

2nd one really tho... 300mm will feel like driving a go-kart, you'll love it!

Get in a fiesta and drive it then jump back into the Clio! It'll feel horrible using that wheel.

I've got a standard one, Steve borrowed it for a bit though when he had a ph1 he was selling (in view of having it trimmed), I hope he's having a giraffe about selling me it, although it too is Donald Ducked. (I intended to get it refurbed but I've become attached to the aftermarket ones.).

Why on earth would I stick with suede mate?! Leather is much nicer!!! Surely?

Deffo the 2nd mate. The thumbgrips on the 1st takes away the OEM look.

I'm quite set on the second one now I think. My car doesn't look overly OEM anyways, lol!

Sabelt that fades and is made of suede?? PAH! I don't even like the look of it that much.

I like the idea of bit being more go-kart esque, great bloody fun I reckon!

I hate the standard Clio wheel after using my dished one.

I don't think so.

The suede ones even when worn just feel so much nicer, imo.

They look crap worn though, I like how mine feels now, but I don't like the feel of fresh suede or the look or un-fresh, so I think it rules it out for me.... lol! (I'm an awkward cnut I know)

For some reason I just imagine the leather to look more classy? lol

Why don't you get the original redone by that guy on here? They look awesome!

Standard one is huge and very bus like, it just makes the whole footwell feel very clumpy and full up, where as the aftermarket ones make it feel a bit more spacious. (I'm tall you see)

I have to agree with budgie though that the feel of a suede wheel is much nicer. Even though they are a pain wear wise. OMP Targa ftw ;)

Ohh I see. I need to see what the aftermarket ones are like. Or maybe I don't just yet as knowing me, I'l end up buying one lol.

The OMP Trecento all day long looks far better, although 300mm will be small.

You've seen my car.. If I'm honest it's like driving a go-kart with gears as it is, so I don't see what difference an even steering wheel is going to make other than enhance the experience ;)

I'd never driven with aftermarket before, I went to pick this car up off of Dan and loved it straight away, feels like there's much more space when you're in the drivers seat, it's awesome!!!!
