And why is the market flooded with CAT C/D cars?!
Might be able to get this one- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/05-52-Renault...oryZ9861QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem at a good price if you rock up with the cash and work your magic...maybe offer some favours also ;o) lol
Yep ... it's mostly about the body parts on the Vee. A cat D on most cars would suggest some serious damage, but on a Vee it really doesn't have to be anything more than cosmetic unfortunately. Eg. clip the curb in the wet, damage the rear suspension, a rear wing, and a rear bumper, and suddenly it's write off time :S. A side pod alone is over £500, a bumper over £1200!The reason that a lot are cat D etc is because of the price of the parts to repair them, you say clio v6 & a dealers eyes light up, you then bend over.
Not to mention the fact that TWR went bustmk1's are supposed to be pretty hard to handle especially in the wet and on the limit (could explain the amount of cat c/d cars around)..i guess thats why renault decided to build the mk2 themselves rather than let TWR do it for them again
i also heard a rumour that the screws used to secure the body kit (from the inside panel) are prone to rust and causing spilts where the panels meet...
