ignition coil question?

just a quick one, not specific to the clio's but to cars in general. when replacing ignition coils and/or leads, should the battery be disconnected?

I didn't when I replaced the coil pack on the 1.2 or the pencil coils on the 1.6

Nope, ignition off at the most.

172 runs the coil off the fuel pump relay so its not even live without the car running
