i would have thought that the car shouldnt need any additional cooling tbh as manufacurers normally make minor adjustments to the spec of a car if the country in which its is being solds climate dictates it, be it a case of the electric fan being set to cut in earlier than other countries or a different size rad. Im assuming you have a thermostatic valve on the sandwich plate connected to the oil cooler so the car can reach a decent temperature and not be "over cooled" come winter time ?

thx guys , and Loony

the lowest temp well have in Winter is 16C, there is no thermostatic valve on the sandwich plate of the oil cooler do you think i have to add it ?

Tony

if 16 degrees is the lowest it will reach then i must admit i doubt you will need to. Im still not overly convinced that you really need all the extra cooling though. what difference has it made to where the temperature guage sits ? and have you fitted and oil temperature gauge to monitor what temperature the oil is running at ?

can reach 40C - Scotland!?

Not many people will like such cosmetic mods on a 172, it might cool things a little..

Not scotland ! Its Hong Kong, a city where the avarage speed shown by the clio on board calculator is not more than 20KM/HR and its so Hot during trafic Jam , each 50 meter you have a trafic light ...

The Oil temp doesnt go over 85degrees after fitting the cooler but i didnt know how it used to be before the cooler.

So no need to think about the Valve right ? because there i no space to put anything now after the sandwish plates and the oil pipes and the 2 sensors were fixed there ( temp and pressure )

Yes i didnt feel the temp guage is lower it is just at he middle sticking there no matter what the raod condition is now or the driving manner , But it happen that we are in peak winter ...

so what about the cosmetic look ? does it make it and ugly unique ?because its the one here in Hong kong with this look

tbh if you are sat in traffic most of the time the cooler isnt going aid dropping the temperature that much unless it has an electric fan blowing or pulling air through the cooler.

as for the look im not really a fan of the headlamp trims and prefer the non vented bonnet but it doesnt look bad.

Nice Tony...............where did you get it............is it a one off.............and how much if you dont mind me asking?

Cya Stu

Well Loony

Yes it is true car here is not a transportation mean, there are some hilly rd you can drive on sometimes after mildnights with bunch of crazily modified japanese cars if you get cought ,baned for a year or so with a fine of 3500HK$ around 250 pounds

for me i forget all the hardship of driving in this city everytime my beloved clio kills a Type R on the High Way !!! do you agree with this ?

this is a piece of fiberglass done localy for Japanese cars for normal mitsubishi who wants to Have evo look

they Fixed it on the Clio Bonnet , adding a thin surface covering the ravets and they they cut the hole for the air inlet

The fiberglass stuff is cheap, 50 pounds around, but the labor is expensive here and not all garage accept to do it because it takes to much time ...

ive seen the vids of BenR booting up the hills behind the skyscrapers in the bay of hong kong so i know what you mean fella.

If you can be sure that in winter the lowest temperature is 16c then run the car on pure water with a corrosion inhibiter such as Water Wetter, this will help with heat dissipation as pure water is much better than the standard 40/60 sometimes 50/50 antifreeze mix most cars have.

  Ziel Nurburgring

Looks nice altogether, each on their own wouldnt but it looks good. Any other mods to the car, still got the standard alloys?

Hi Leonny

ive seen the vids of BenR booting up the hills behind the skyscrapers in the bay of hong kong so i know what you mean fella]

Can you help me to see this VIDS,

Tony

Ill have to ask him if he still has them hosted or on a file he can email, its in his caterham/westfield that he has over there.

I know what you mean about surprising people in CTRs and similar who dont realise there is a 2l clio. Good fun.

the car Is supershiped and with a pipercross air filter, omp exhost

yeah i went down to the MK1 15 INCH alloys " i guess its speedline

with a standard Mk2 172 i make a gap of 75 Meters at the end of the 4th gear while i have one passenger on board and the standard MK2 is alone in his car.

On High Revs around 7000 passing from the first gear to the 2 gear there is a painful noise that come out when engaging, did anyone have any idea ?

Thanks

Tony

Actually i bough the car form a Guy called Ben , i wonder if this is the guy you are talking about

but anyway i appreciate you help concerning the VIDS

In Non turbo cars the CTR"s were dominant untill the arrival of the Clio

ive sold my S16 306 because of being slotered by some CTRs

In the clio i look for them in every corner now. few days ago A Mitusbishi 3000GT was badly surprised what harm a clio can do in her first 3 gears

for sure disapointment of other is great fun for me !
