I have one.

Its got the new Sony amp (which is in all of their range now) - 4x52w.

Sounds excellent - I can get 50 MP3 albums on one DVD.

Sounds better than my old 7500 (due to slightly updated amp - so lower noise).

Could do with a better screen... but having 50 albums at your fingertips more than makes up for it.

ONLY one bad : Takes 30secs to read the TOC on an MP3 DVD - due to the huge number of songs on it.

Check-out the sony site for the specs.

Cool cheers mate, im undecided by the other sony (in other thread) and this one. im thinking this one but still confused, plus if you want the screen workin all the time in the front how do you wire up the parking brake?confused?

50 albums pi$$es all over these silly ipod connectors!!!

So so easy!

There are two Video outputs - 1xFront 1xRear

Either : Just use the Rear output for your front screen. .. and it'll never go off!

Alternatively, connect the handbrake wire to "ignition on" cable.

I had the 7500 - very nice screen etc... but only 8 albums per CD... that's why I upgraded... it is otherwise a nice piece of kit.

Ok mates cheers for the advice!!will look into both stereos and decide which is better, the mexr1 doesnt have a knob for volume which is annoying and the front looks better on the other one but im thinking the mex-r1 is future proofing if you get me!!
Ill have a look to see where is cheapest!

Not having a knob is so so mucb better - the buttons are bigger and easier to press on the MEX.

I found the knoe thingy a bit fiddly whilst moving on bumps etc.

Let up know how you get on!
