Insurance for lots of miles in performance cars?

I'm trying to find a company who will offer a competitive quote on the following:
30 yr old male, 5 years NCB, one SP30 18 months ago
25k miles per year, inc business use of 5k
Currently looking at an E60 545

Best quote so far is Direct line who were coming in at 650 with a 350 excess, which is about £200 more premium and excess than I'd expect!

I used either direct line or admiral.

335d in an A rated postcode, with 30k business miles was £500 with Directline.

RS3 in B rated postcode with 30k business miles is £600 with admiral.

Also I have an SP30 and was 27/28 at time of quote.

Must be something odd with 545s, perhaps small build numbers mean the accident stats get screwed up?

Just seems very odd for a safety barge to be that expensive and wind up with that large a compulsory excess!
