Insurance repairers are taking the piss now!

  Chocolate Bar™
rung em up today as they said the car would be back in the first week of january (they've already had it for 2 months) and they've now told me it'll be the end of january! Proper pissed off as i had a quote off cliospares for the work taking 2 weeks start to end. Its annoyed me so much because i'm paying 30 quid a week to insure the car so i'm wasting a load of money driving around in a 1.2 corsa :banghead:

Also i know they wont replace my alloy bonnet like for like, which imo, will reduce the value of the car. What do you reckon are the chances of me arguing it and getting them to reduce the excess i've gotta pay. I know theres not a chance they'll replace it with an alloy one as they're 700 quid from renault.

rant over for the time being!

  ST on the way...
2 months?!? Thats pretty bad mate TBH.

As far as the bonnet goes, they should replace like for like, if it came with one from the factory then they should fit one!

  Chocolate Bar™
it'll be almost 3 fecking months by the time i get the car back!

oh trust me i'm gonna try everything, especially as it came with the car as standard. Luckily its got the green shift light as well which is often associated with cars which came with the alloy bonnet, so will have a bit more weight behind my arguement. Ultimatly though i'll just tell them to go back to telford find my old bonnet and compare the weight of it to the one they've put on, wont be able to argue it then.

exactly :)

fingers crossed it'll get sorted, i had a bump in mine a few years ago, waited a fookin age to get it back (not as bad as yours) I was expecting it to be missing the cup spiltter (would have put money on it) but i was suprised

you never know :)

BUMPING THIS UP :dapprove:

still not got my car, and still not got a confirmation date of when its due.

will be starting to question the bodyshop, and the insurance company as to when it due to get sorted.

i'm paying £34 a week in insurance, and where is my car??

with the exception of following the internal complaints procedure when its finished is there anyway i can make a complaint, or is it best to wait for a deadlock letter from the insurance before going to the financial ombudsman.

when i crashed my car back in august it was dealt with by direct line very proffesionaly and got it to a garage very quickly and soon had the estimate. it turned out it was a write off, so i never had the hassle of waiting for it to be repaired.

TBH think it just depends on pot luck to how quick it gets done.

the bodyshop were fine in the beginning. admiral held up proceeedings by not giving me a decision for a while, but now its down to the bodyshop not getting the work done quickly :(

so im just wondering, but i still complain to the insurance company about the wait (as ive got their policy) or the bodyshop who are fixing it? or both lol

yo man!!

mine is the same, all insurance companies are w**k.

had a rear end write off a good 2-3 months ago, been paying way over the odds on the insurance, they still havent payed out, it was a straight forward claim which seems to be taking the piss... they have assesed it, confirmed the write off and ammount for payout... but nothing has been payed yet.... stupid!!!!!

feel for ya dude!

cheers everyone, sambo i remember your crash, as if it isnt sorted yet!

tommyboy - i bloody hope i do too :(

this is a sh1t deal mate, mine was taken from my house on a sunday, repaired and back to my house by friday, granted without the new grill and xenon, but they "didnt know" about those bits.

was fooking amazed by the quality of service, mild moan from me and voila, 2 new xenons and an rs grill.

macclesfield motor bodies if anyone is interested.

who is repairing it mate?

if i remeber correctly mark, you only should go to the FOS when your insurer has refused to compensate you for their poor service.

  Chocolate Bar™
rightio, i shall wait and see what they say, pretty certain they wont give in though :(

elite bodykraft in telford are doing it

  Racing Blue 182
you can go to the ombudsman at any point you want, the company will need to issue you there final response letter though before the case is taken on by the ombudsman.

Get onto the phone to the ombudsman tomorow. Any help you want, give me a shout.

Tell the insurance you are going to the ombudsman, it costs them £260 wether they come out right or wrong, so they will try the best to resolve your complaint asap

  Chocolate Bar™
thats shocking^

racingblue182 - cheers mate really appreciate it. Hopefully i'll get a call tomorrow, if not i'll be onto them right away. Once i've spoke to them and see what they offer i'll give u a pm just to check where i stand :)

rightio, i shall wait and see what they say, pretty certain they wont give in though :(

elite bodykraft in telford are doing it

I am with Admiral aswell. The Vee is also at Elite Bodycraft in Telford!!! The women from there said she would ring me last week to give me an update and guess what - still waiting now!!

Admiral seemed fairly good to begin with getting it picked up etc, but then took me 2 weeks before they confirmed the work had been authorised!
Not looking too good for me getting it back soon if yours is also there!

  Chocolate Bar™
they always promise to get back to u and never do. If i was you mate i'd get on their back from the beginning, something i didnt do hence it taking so bloody long! mine should be done now, whether it is or not is a different story.

What courtesy car have u got btw?

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
my advice is nag from the word go, go down to view the work as its being done, get thier backs up, best way imo

  Chocolate Bar™
too far to view the work as i'd be down there everyday if it wasnt over an hours drive away :( i've not nagged them too much as i have a courtesy car, however when i get the car back they will be nagged to high heaven until they give me compensation!

  VRS
:(

hope shes back soon dude

they have had it for a shocking amount of time, when i crashed my 106 i needed, new lights, bumper, bonnet, passenger door and rear quarter as well as a few structural bits and bobs and a respray and the locke and hankey in congy only had it a week over chistmas and it was all done :D

anything over a month is a disgrace imo :(

My boss smashed his car up last June, the was some arguing about who was to blame etc. He got the car back just before xmas.

  Chocolate Bar™
thats the thing there was no arguing, it was non fault as it was on cctv, but he did a runner and the police couldnt be arsed to follow it up, so i had to claim on my insurance

  Chocolate Bar™
well ive just spoken to admiral and to the bodyshop who have informed me that it is coming back with an alumium bonnet as it was when it went in, so i shall be interested to see what its got on it.

if it hasnt got the alumium bonnet i shall be rejecting the work, and using it as a tool to argue for compensation :D

it also due to come back next wednesday depending on my work rota.

  Chocolate Bar™
well just thought id bump this up as im utterly disgusted with admiral / elite bodycraft and i advise anybody insured with them to change companies as soon as possible.

*awaits another phonecall from admiral's crap customer services dept*

  CLIO V6
Have you spoken to Elite recently? I have spoken to them everyweek so far and she always says i will ring you next week to let you know the progress. Guess what, they have never rang me once. They didn't even ring when Admiral had given them the go-ahead to do the work.

I spoke to Elite on Wednesday last week to be told she had tried to contact the suppliers for the parts but no answer and its on her list to do. I can't see a large supplier not answering the phone or contacting them. As it was she put me on hold, rang them and came back to say the parts would be with Elite early this week. Guess what, i'm still waiting for the update phone call from her!!! When i spoke to them last week she said it could possibly be ready this weekend if the parts arrive.

Admiral have never rang me up to ask if everything is going ok and has the garage been in contact etc. Even when they had taken the car away on 19th December they didn't return any calls like they said they would.

I'm not sure if you're insurance is worse or mine mate, I've had my car back and sent it off again and again, and now they're refusing to admit further damage caused as a result of the poor work done H Samsons, causing me to have to pay for a new door. I hope you get yours sorted out soon. Insurance is such a load of b*llocks

i though u would have it back by now middo, i keep looking for the pics to see if you got it back, they are taking the piss

  Chocolate Bar™
basically mate, the 'we havent got parts thing' is a load of bullshit. Today i was told the real reason why my car isnt back... surprise surprise it isnt even bloody sprayed yet! takes the piss.

hi, ive worked in an insurance contracted bodyshop and my advise is dont accept anything you dont like the car is supposed to leave in the same condition as it left the factory. check everything all the gaps ie doors bonnet boot, colour match between panels etc ive known customers to get the vehicle independently checked and come back with a two page love letter but everything gets sorted within reason. good luck
