iOllieSM's new car :)

Hi all!
So some of you may have remembered my 1.2 clio dynamique...
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1364752707.861038.jpg

Which was a great laugh to drive... But after a year and a half of driving I've decided to upgrade a little!

New car is a flame red 172. Havnt got many pictures yet as only had it a week. Car is on 57k miles, FSH, 1 owner from new and is in pretty good nick for a 10 year old car!
Do have a few plans for it (no black bonnet!) just to smarten it up. Already fitted a skoda splitter and bought some silver visions to fit (stuggling though with lack of space in the bay!!)
Anyway. Here's the current pics I have from a quick clean today :)

Nothing special, but my favourite yet below.

Save up and stop splashing out on the 1.2! :p that's why I just stopped on my old car and saved up. So happy I did now :)
And thanks mate, the updates will be slow-ish for the first couple months as I am a little struck for cash ATM lol, but I would love to have it lowered for CSS!

Nice car Ollie. Will keep an eye out for you! Pretty sure standard sport springs are just black and the rears have pink and white paint dots round the bottom. What colour are they on yours? Red are eibach sportlines or mark fish ones, and yellow are likely Apex.

Thanks mate :) and hm, interesting. Mine are like a satin black colour - told a mate this though and he thought they may be aftermarket. Nevermind though! Just appears to be quite low in that picture I guess

Possibly Eibach prolines as I think they are black but would have eibach written on them somewhere. Looks about standard height to me, most I'd do would be some sportline springs and make sure its minty fresh underneath! Great car!

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone! I will have a little look at the springs properly this weekend and see if they have any brand names on them. Chippin, your old flamer looked amazing! I have noted down what width spacers you went for and will look into getting them.

Insurance wise, it surprised me tbh!

Looks good bud, definitely an improvement. Can't beat a good flamer! The standard springs are black, I know, as I have a set in the loft I looked at yesterday. The C2 aerial is a must get, tidied mine up no end.

Chippen went with 20mm, but I had rubbing issues with 20mm on track on mine. In the end, I went with 15mm all round. They don't rub on track and they still make a noticeable difference on the car.

I'm just thinking - i said 20mm rear, 15mm front but it was the other way round actually. You could confirm that with jaysen26 on here as he owns it now but i'm certain that's the setup i had actually.

Cub - see, i never had trouble with 20mm fronts, however Jaysen who now owns it did due to (and i don't mean this in a dickhead way) but he's bigger than i am. I'm 10stone, Jaysen i'm guessing had a few more on me (he's not fat, just a bigger build hahaha!)

Lol - that will be why mine rubbed! I'm not fat, but i'm nowhere near 10st!

Haha, it's something i never realised 'til Jaysen came to put his deposit on mine. I know he's since raised it, whether he still has problems or not i don't know!

Eibach hubcentric spacers, can't remember how much they cost I'm afraid. Circa £90 for a set I think. You'll need two sets (4 spacers). Plus the bolts. Make sure you get long enough wheel bolts.

Thanks cub :) who is the nearest specialist to guildford? Obviously who is trusted and stuff. And how much does a general health check cost? I have no issues with the car, I just want to know if everything is as it should be (unless its really expensive I won't bother as I dont actually NEED to, just a piece of mind thing)
Thanks all!

Nice :p thanks people! Not much going on ATM. Just been cleaning it up, especially the engine bay! Getting a new engine mount fitted tomorrow, but on the whole just trying to keep her clean and tidy! :)

I've had a productive day today. I've sprayed my grille and foglight surrounds matte black, looks so good! touched in some scratches on the rear quarters I found after waxing it the other day :/ (one is almost invisible, so happy! Other isn't as good, but still improved) Ive cleaned the engine bay up alot, especially the inlet. attacked that with wire wool and a tough brush which has massively improved it! (Was covered in grease and just mucky, now looks almost new) checked everything over. Also applied the CS sticker + tax disk holder.
Havnt got any pictures as they aren't massive changes, but all together the car looks much cleaner now. Also had the engine mount sorted (old one had sheared inhalf) so no more knocking.

Not the biggest update, but I'm chuffed with the results so thought I'd share.

Any pics of the engine bay now ollie? just wondering how much of a difference it will actually make, cheers :)

I will get a picture for you tomorrow. Dependent on how yours looks, it might not be as impressive lol. I never got any "before" pictures unfortunately :/ but it was pretty horrible. It still needs some work doing to it, isnt absolutely perfect. But it is a big step up from what it was :)
pics will follow tomorrow. Too dark now :/
