iPhone 4/iOS4 Info (READ THE FIRST POST!!!)

Yeah, some people are fine.

But my tip is

Full Sync with 3.1.3
Then RESTORE to 4.0

Then back up using the last sync. (You will be prompted by iTunes)

That way you'll avoid most issues.

(bear in mind this will also work if you have already moved to 4.0 and you have issues. Just Restore again)

Any idea how I move my contacts from my Sony Ericsson K750i to an iPhone 4, as I won't be able to use my old SIM?

Do you have a Gmail or Mobile Me account?

If you do you can import the contacts as one file to these services and sync them back to the iPhone wirelessly

And your microsim will work in your K750i just dont punch it out until you need to put it in the iPhone (if thats easier, with most K750i users they have their contacts on the phone as the management is better)

Can you not sync your SE phone with the SE software, then copy them to windows contacts (or address book if on mac) and then sync that way??

I'm not sure, but that's what I'd try.


I've decided that I probably won't bother with the iPhone 4 after seeing how well ios4 works on my 3GS. It'll do me for another year. That's £500 I've got to spend on something else now! w00t.

No I don't have either, but it's probably setting one up if it's that easy.

Never realised the microsim would fit before 'punching out'. Sounds like another good idea.

I've always found the SE software a bit useless. Cheers though.

You should be able to use the SE software to get the contacts into windows address book if you're a PC user, then from there its easy to get them into iTunes on the "sync" options :)

Same here but I would hope we will see some activity today, even if all they do is take the money from my bank account. My brother is taking my online purchase and I'm collecting my own iPhone 4 from the Apple store on Thursday morning.

Just got an email from Apple regarding my instore pre-order

When you come in to pick up your iPhone 4, you'll be directed to a queue for those with reservations. We'll have Specialists ready to transfer your contacts, set up email and help you get apps so your iPhone is just the way you like it. We look forward to seeing you at the store.

Well thats not true, can go to one of the stores on Thursday and queue with all the other people that haven't pre-ordered from apple.

O2 have said that they only have enough to provide existing customers that have been with them for over a month or something so if you're not an O2 customer try CPW/P4U.

There will be 37 SQUILLION nerds outside shops at 4am on the 24th shaking in excitement of getting their hands on their new 'precious'.

If you queue with them, you will h'actually catch 'virginitus'.

Im going to runcorn/widnes I think, just get one from there. Most of the people are on the breadline anyway, should have a good chance.

Have Vodafone clarified what they are doing on Thursday yet??

I don't think I can be bothered to queue for several hours and a waste a day's holiday from work. Hoping I might get some benefits with Voda being an existing customer and that.

This may have been talked about, but I've just discovered you can have blank springboards. So the first page can be blank, just a wallpaper. Cool.
