I've just done a 2 year calculation.

Simplicity
£20 x 24 months = £480
Upgrading from 16GB4S to 32GB iPhone5 = £300
Upgrading in a years time = £300.
Total = £1080

Contract
£36 x 24 months = £864
Upgrading from 16GB 4S to new Handset price = £130 SAVING. (Based on 32gb price currently on contract £170 and selling current 4S for £300)
Upgrading Handset in a years time = £300
Total = £1034

Had to put two years in as the contract runs for 2 years in order to compare. If you don't want to upgrade after 12 months, just knock the £300 off each.

Contract appears cheaper by £46, providing you don't pocket the £130 saving towards monthly bills and go on a messy night out with it)


Won't let me take that off bold, but this is what I went by. O2 Contracts vs O2 Simplicity.

Doubt you'll be able to with providers. You couldn't with the 4S.

When the 4 came out you could "upgrade" to the new 4 (I was with o2) in the Apple store after reserving the phone.

Thats not good then.

Doesn't pack enough must haves to warrant a change in phone, IMO Android is streaks ahead and I own an iPhone!! How to pi** off your customers....change the port to a different size so all the ancils no longer work!!

Those calculations include upgrading in a years time. In the contract calculations, that would just involve selling it via mazuma, and then going handset only.

90% held me up as they wanted contracts.

I'd never queue again, unless I knew there was a dedicated line for sim free. Online, delivered to my desk is for me. Plus I'm a self checkout kind of guy.

Hopefully you can pre-order a iPhone 5 for collection at a local Apple store, it was handy when they last allowed customers to do that as the pre-order queue was much smaller and faster.
