is 100,000 miles+ too many?

Thats probably the cheapest 182 so far! I assume its all motorway miles and fully serviced? If you're not doing huge mileages and everything seems good then Id say do it!

Guess the question is are you buying it because it's cheap? If so do you have the cash to fix it should it break? Yes, then go for it, but don't pay more than 5k for it - No movement? Get a clean 172.

Tbh i'd want to see bills for the cambelt (which should have been done due to the mileage on it) plus things like the clutch/gearbox (if it's had new ones etc) etc. It says it has frsh, so I want to see all the bills they have for it.
If you get him down a bit you may get a bargain.

Id want the price to be about 600 notes lower personally. Then Id expect to see a load of receipts.
Bearing in mind motorway miles put no were near as much stress on the mechanicals as hard driving does. I wouldnt be shocked to see it on its original clutch!

False economy imo... unless you can get it for more like 4k, you can be pretty sure it may need some major work at some stage. Although the engine is probably fine. Will be motorway miles so, oil kept warm all the time and bits won't be as worn as 100k suburban driving. you have to remember your going to have trouble shifting it in future. If you do 30k in it it will be virtually unsellable imo.

Having had a car over 100,000miles and now trying to sell it, no. However, my BMW has 180500miles and is still a first time starter reliable nothing ever goes wrong brilliant car... BUT I can't sell it for a reasonable price, because people are scared off by the mileage. So in the future, I will consider reselling the car and always buy a lower mileage one.

Mine's over 93k miles and has got here from new without too many issues. apart from a broken wire recently and one didgy spark plug it's been almost 100% reliable.
So long as there's clear evidence that it's been serviced correctly and by a reputable dealer/specialist I'd say no problem.
