Swap for my 1.2 16v replica just over 70k miles

for a silver 172FF with 77k miles (standard aswell)

No cash either way

Im unsure I was personally after a low mileage but was willing to pay the diffrence

Opinions Would be helpful ??

Thats going to be some deal if you pull it off.

Make sure the 172 is not a laim one that will cost you loads to get right

02 172 with 77k isnt that bad mileage, 5k over the cambelt though, which is a worry, plus it should have been done at 5 year portion.

Any pics been sent to you or what is the quality of it internally and externally. Doesnt sound too unappealing provided your not getting a shed.

Is your car not needing the splitter fixed also?

still worth the swap aslong as nowt else is wrong , get someone to check it out properly 1st ...then go for it ....cambelt around 500 quid atm (does need doing for defo )

well i would of thought that the 172 would be worth a fair bit more than a 1.2 billabong so u got to ask your self what is wrong with it?

i only payed 3.500 for a 53 mint billabong in black on 35k
all 172s i seen were like 4.995 upwards.

i could be wrong but i wouldent rush into it because it seems a bargin.

* Hpi check it
* Fully inspect it for common problems (mechanic present if your not one)
* Test Drive it
* Make sure all vin plates are same as log book and that all the paper work is ok. log book etc

if all seems ok just a personal choice then what you want.

Just my knowledge and opinion may be things others could add or correct

good luck m8

Getting pictures tonight hopefully

Supposed scuff on rear bumper but apart from that it has been called "mint"

My car has the megane splitter so will probaly clean it up or replace with another one

Thanks for the pointers remember I have done a lot of exterior work on the car which might be more appealing to some

Might be worth a look then

aye id get your splitter from its munsoned state sorted, but if its as described it might be ok, worry over the cambelt though as you could be looking at 400£ straight away!!

id also be slightly sceptical as ok its a year older, but in theory some cash should change hands imo

+1

One thing i'd find off putting is the fact that the cambelt hasn't been done.
How long have they had it for ??
Why do they want to swap ??

I also think that 77k on an 02 reg is quite a bit (I do appreciate that it's not intergalactic mileage) If it were me i'd be going for one on 50k or so.

Please let us know how you get on:)

172's can cost a bit especially when cambelts due, service due, tax due, etc etc so the guy is maby looking for something cheaper to run but wants something good looking, which is why your car might appeal to him!
