Is it worth it??

  Porsche Boxster987S
Car is due the 36k service and im needing new rear brakes and coilys fitted (or sportlines . . hi alan/ali xx;)) I DO NOT want any cowboy apprentice from arnold clarks or parks touching the thing. Id like it all done by a specilaist ie Rentech / ktec etc. However is it worth all the travelling and fuel/mileage added to the clock to take it to these people or am i better just asking for an ''experienced'' mechanic to deal with it in one of the above^^ that i have mentioned??

i just cant decide:S

Leeds would be do-able. i wouldnt be getting reno to fit coilys. theyd do the service and id need to find a seperate garage to fit the coilys, whereas if i went to a specialist they could do both

Imo travelling to rentech etc will be a complete mission, your looking at about 10 hours or so each way. I'd go with Gaz's suggestion tbh.

I'd get the whole lot done in the specialists tbh.

The service at a specialist isnt always that much better than renault. Definately not travelling from scotland better.

There are good renault/ independant garages out there dude, id find one nearer home :)

Didnt Ali use a motorsport place in scotland for his old coilies?

hhmm cat your right 10hour journet seems extreme:( Id love the car to be at one of these specialists though.

justin. the mrs has a trackday booked down south between march and november so that could actuallt be a plan. killing two birds with one stone n all that

Kenny brown in Hillington for your collies including corner weighted.

Servicing I would Just get reno to do it they aint all numpties just most of them. Would be nice to have the likes of Rentec close by but they aint so....

you'd be stupid to travel all the way down south...

plenty of reputable places up here...

no disrespect to rentec...

a service is a service at the end of the day, change same s**t

option 1 - serviced by a specialist who knows what theyre doin and knows renault sports.

option 2 - serviced at arnold clark/parks by people who tell me over the phone that 1. You dont get the 182 in yellow:S 2. It doesnt need any belt changes yet:S

its a tough 1.

Ali you seem like a difficult guy to please so to hear you say Falklands is encouraging. ill give them a bell 2mora

As said mate Kenny Brown in HIllington Est.

I know his boy, hes a good lad. A Formula Racing driver iirc

Its worth bearing in mind that most dealers will price match a specialist providing that both services are like for like.
