He consulted myself before hand but I never expected him to catch so many whoppers!

Like I said young William, I'm a wordsmith x

EDIT: To be clear. It's a subject that has been discussed in private. I put it in public in a polite manner. No trolling intended.

Trust someone as vain as you to think of that kind of attention. ;)

Attention as in being tailgated/egged on by chavs. Seemingly quite a few in my town. :(

I get egged on by chavs too (quite often clios TBH) I am I about to change my car? No! You care much more than you realise.

Once again - harden up.

You didn't read the OP.

It's a discussion mate.

yeah i did hence my first post chap

and as to movin on i ment from moanin about ppl and there cars not your thread if u dont like peoples comment then dont start the topic and as for calling them a charver bucket and not expecting people to take offence i think thats abit daft imo

You still get some very nice saxo builds IMO.

But as your opinion stands, the tatter always ends up with a certain general group of people aye. I wouldn't say chavs, but less inclined for conditioners maybe. There is definitely some glorious saxo's still about. Same with 106's. Same can be said for RS Clio's.

I stand on the view that it's all on the individual car/owner. Afterall I've seen some right egit MK2 FRS owners about.

Why is there such a huge backlash? I was very clear in the OP that it's just a generalisation. I was careful not to offend anyone.

TBH some of the reactions in here are only enforcing my original point.

I agree with your generalisation as a whole. Just saying it's not impossible to find a mint example of any car. :)

In fairness, I was surprised it went as many posts as it did without someone mentioning an FRS.

Just out of interest, do you class yourself as a chav? With a user name change to something like lagerlout, i am taking it you are a chav and proud?

You asked for opinions, and gave yours - all fair enough, but now your asking why people disagreed with you? You didn't offend anybody personally, but managed to offend an entire group of people, hence the backlash IMHO.

Alan, stop being an idiot.

Unless we have serious discussion based on Roy's original topic, then I'll have to stop checking the thread because it's not entertaining. Probably.

I think in my area it's not reached chav status yet, there is a couple of questionable ones but that can be said for most cars. I know a chav with the exact same rs as Roy in white too. Chav doesn't equal no money.
I was actually talking to a lad who the cs police would class as a chav and his car reflected it so I had a bit crack with him and gave him a few tips and next time I saw him he had sold the ruined 1 and got a sorted 172. Maybe they just need educating.

Yes.

From Wiki: A "backlash" is a popular negative reaction to something which has gained popularity, prominence, or influence. Although it can sometimes represent a categorical rejection of the idea, aesthetic, product, or fad in question, it is usually a reflection of a collective resentment of that thing's ubiquity in culture and media, rather than a denial of its existence.

I must say (and this is IMO, based upon MY location), but the ph1 is so rare to see on the road, that the chance of it being a "chav" are less than slim*

*unless I'm driving past a row of shop windows and catch my reflection

I only bought mine a couple of weeks agoand wouldn't have considered one had it not been for EVO mag championing them. Before that I always viewed them as a chavvy car anyway and I am getting some stick in work for buying it however I am loving the car so opinions don;t matter

But I didn't question any differing opinions. I didn't ask why people disagree. Are you arguing with yourself?

lol. Close thread.

Not in any way a troll, but you posting made me think of it straight away. There's an Illiad Blue V6 in the next village that has huge Playboy stickers on it and racing stripes down the middle. Driven by a 40 something. It makes me cringe lol
