Is this a good price for a MK2 172 Cup?

Hi guys.

Going to be picking up my 172 Cup tomorrow and was just wondering what people's opinion/thoughts were on the price i'm paying?

Car is as follows:

-2003 52 Plate
-Mondial Blue
-1 Owner From new (Woman)
-19,000 miles on the clock
-Imaccualte condition
-12 month MOT + Tax

Price= £6,200.

That any good?

Reason i'm getting one is that I just bought a 106 GTi from a VW Dealer only to find when i got home that it had a new front end and the bonnet and both wings didnt match up!!
Took it straight back up there and got my money back.

Started browsing through the net and saw a Clio 172 Cup in blue and it looked awesome!!
Phoned the guy up and we agreed on that price. Had a test drive and couldnt believe how fast they are!!!

I've always had VAG 1.8T engined cars and always thought the Clio 172s werent that quick. I now stand corrected. Amazing power.

Interior in the Cup is a bit plain but the performance makes up fo it. I might get some Recaro seats to spruce things up a bit.

I can't believe you can pick one up for that much now, especially with those miles on it.
Looking on the autotrader, they are all way more than that.

Just out of interest whats the book price on a cup now??
I got a 53 plate cup, with 11.5k on the clock, wonder how much mine's worth now.... :-(

ive just payed 6200 for a 52 plate cup in immaculate condition with 30,000 on it. it does have 11 months tax and 12 months mot too. if i were u id bite his hand off. theyre awsome fun.

Its a damn good price. I've got a 53 plater with 34K so I'm well unimpressed that the car you're getting is as low as that!

One thing to make certain of is your insurance, as the cup has been noted as being more expensive to insure than the 172s and 182s because of the number of single vehicle accidents.

Sorry if I sound negative, but check it out so you are sure. Although, should you get it, welcome to the club.

At that price just snap it up!

Do a HPI check first though to make sure it's not been in an accident and repaired!

As mentioned the Cup is more to insure but that's becuase they're better (ut ow, haha).

The interior is pants, but the seats aren't too bad just don't look pretty, if only they went lower!!

Just remember that a VAG 1.8T will prob have ABS / Traction Control and not such a live wire.

You've gotta luv those 172 Cups but just be a little careful as they can snap out very quickly.

Love the way you rang the "chap" up when its owned by a women More like car in her name and he drove it. Exactly what I do with my cars, in my mums name, loving mid aged female driver. They couldnt be more wrong when coming to buy.
