is this car worth it.

so im on the market for a clio 1.2 dynamique. budget 1000-1500.

i have just found a very cheap one, 99k miles, 2003 reg. long mot and tax. few marks but nothing big.
mots reciepts but NO service history and NO cambelt.
list price £999

im only realy looking for a car with FSH and cambelt but at that price i can service it and cambelt it?

I would be wary of anything with no service history or cambelt history, try finding one first that has both!

Pretty sure you should be able to pick something up in that price range, even if it has a little bit more mileage at least it will have the history to go with it!

Should be able to get a 1.2 with everything you have mentioned plus service and cambelt history. So I would say its not worth. Might be best to put a link up though so people can actualy see the add to help them with their opinion.

That sounds better but the lack of proof is strange, ask where he works and see if he generally is a mechanic then go from there!

Just spoke to him on the phone , nice old guy. He did all the work himself but has receipts for stuff like cambelt kit etc. sounds like a really looked after car. Even has 4 brand new tyres! Driving 60 miles to see it now and hopefully leave a deposit fingers crossed!

If he done it himself, chances are he may not have receipts really! I just changed my own tyres, I don't have a receipt for that... But the 2nd one sounds better. £1000 for a car that's done 99k miles isn't great in my opinion :/. Good luck in your search though man

Just got back from viewing it.. Left a deposit
car was spotless inside and out. It's a 2003 1.2 billabong model so has funky seats and alloys. He has owned it for 6 years and has all the mot certificates. He showed me the cambelt kit receipt and explained how he installed it. Even has upgraded speakers lol.
Got him down by £150 so I'm paying a really good price for a looked after car = result!
