M3 was a money pit as u bought one that needed an Inspection 2, then sold it at a loss 2 months after buying/servicing it. You plank ;)

Scooby is lovely, if you still wear tracksuits for socialising.

pwned!

Love em personally! Once I get a house bought, i'll probably bin the Clio and get one after a year or so, don't need it for work so running costs not really an issue

They are very different tbh. I think once the Scoob has the power it should of had from factory, I will prefer it over the m3.
I liked the m3 for the image until all of the sudden 5 darker than average men started driving them where I live.

LOL at selling an M3 because some dark skinned men bought them, then buying an Impreza, the predominantly asian council estate chariot of choice.

(Disclaimer, in Bradford/Huddersfield etc)

Well, it varies for every person but mine isn't too bad. It's £400 less than that piece of s**t m3.

It's got a blackjax device on it so that helped.

lol @ everyone saying they're slow.

They're not as rapid as everyone seems to think, granted, but circa 180bhp/ton standard isn't bad for a saloon.

My dad has a hawkeye 2.5t and it's alright, feels faster than it is imo. Not too much in it with my M3 in terms of outright speed tbh, the M pulls a few car lengths at higher speeds...

standard/standard, i think the m3 is hugely faster.
i had a play with a friends focus st which is a little bit modified and the scooby was pretty much level with it but the m3 was a hell of a lot faster.

hopefully, less than 2 weeks time and it should be circa 350bhp which should be enough for a bit.

so the first few bits have started arriving..

I like them obv (ref my username). I allways thought they were the fastest things ever but to be honest what i liked the most was, grip and the noise. Would i have another, in alot of ways yeah but i want to do more track days so it would be financial suicide. If i had no responsibilities, mortgage for a start, id have another. Hope you enjoy it mate looks a nice one. Oh and lol at people saying there slow. A standard one would beat most the clios on here. Spend a grand and i reckon only a handfull of clios on here would get close.

It was me (and the OP!) who said they were slow.

I've owned lots of subarus and I stand by my statement.

they arent slow persai.
but i always feel that the actual impreza model should have the power to go with the looks.
260 standard for a car that weighs 1475kg isnt too impressive but as imprezaworks said, i love it for the noise and feeling that i get when i drive it.

oh and the fact that after spending a whopping £600 i can get it to 330-350 with similar torques.

I've driven a 370hp Hawkeye and that thing made me piss myself. Absolute hoot to drive.

Like you say, all show no go. (Unless they're modded)

when i got my first one after a bmw 2003 318ci when i was 18/19 it felt like a f**king rocket..
my old sti with 320ish is the only car ive ever had that i thought to myself. this is quick.

wanted 400bhp but have been advised not to bother. :(

Ebay special front pipe?

Theyre hardly slow as standard. Not quick but not shy as a cheap standard car. They slow like a Megane 225 is, Focus ST etc. They're just not as fast as any 17 year old thinks.

A mate of mine has a 370bhp hawk eye and although i've never driven it, from the passenger seat its mighty quick.

It was the OP that said they are slow.

and im comparrison to his M3 they do feel slow, i know that for a fact.

  123D Coupe + MK1 MX5
I like them, Blob Eye is my favourite shape (After the hatchback).

As said though, 260bhp just isn't enough, the PPP package takes them to 305bhp IIRC?

The noise is the best thing about them to be honest.

I also think you're a bit of a mongo for getting rid of the M3 for that.

  S3 Sportback, Ninja
Having owned both an impreza that shape and now owning an e46 m3 you have made a massive backwards step. I couldnt give a s**t when I sold my impreza awful interior the noise is very annoying after a while and they feel very flat in power terms. You would have to pry my e46 m3 out of my cold dead fingers there is simply no comparison.

You are correct until Tuesday and then the impreza is getting a nice big dolop of POWER!!! (think jeremey clarkson)

Getting pops and bangs added (innit)

u getting it ecutek'd mate? makes such a huge difference with a few mods, had all my 3 classics mapped by andy forrest, last one was 305bhp and it went very very well!! classics only weigh circa 1240kg not been in or driven a newer blob eye or bug eye. looks a good one though, enjoy. and lol at the clio owners on here with the "slow" sti chat. brilliant.

Herr Flick

aka Herman Ze German
Not using ecutek as I have found a different option which works better for me...
Fitting the decat tomorrow so not looking forward to that!

Herr Flick

aka Herman Ze German
Why a decat is a good idea...

Except for wasting the whole of today all because of some prick had a go at it before and rounded off 2 nuts. (Cnut)

  Turbos.
That looks seriously w**k with those mudflaps. So used to seeing stanced ones in the JDM thread that this looks really odd, sorry!

Stop wasting money on performance mods and get it lowered, quick! Do like the new splitter though...

Herr Flick

aka Herman Ze German
fortuently I'm not into the whole stance shite, not keen on the mud flaps either but I've only had time to fit everything for the map on tuesday.

Winter is just round the corner ( the whole point of this car) so lowering is definitely not happening.

Very happy with the cable tie splitter.

update-

had it mapped (chipped if you're a tw*t) last night, went for a few runs and all of the sudden i heard a loud clonking noise from underneath and all of the sudden we heard a loud blowing noise (not too far from the noise of a tractor)

we managed to do a few runs/tweaks before it got too bad and i had to nurse it home slowly and off boost.
i took the intercooler off thinking i would have to take the DP off again as it was blowing from the turbo-DP join, once the intercooler was off it came apparent that one of the blanking nuts had worked itself loose so there was a huge hole just by the top of it.

luckily i had kept the one i took off for the lambda sensor so wacked that back on and all is good..

it is now running a little over 330bhp with similar torques.
i cant believe how different it is now and its quite a jump from 265 to be fair. (got to love forced induction)

now running 1.4bar from the standard 1.1bar.

doesnt feel so slow now. :rasp:
