Jacked up your 182 yet

I dont mind stuff like the parcel shelf being flimsy but you would think the jacking points would support the weight of the car!

Was changing the wheels today ready for a trackday and this is the result.

I should probably let the dealer look at it but ive only just got the car back after 10 days for a split power steering hose( with no courtesy car)

Anyone else had this happen?

Renault, will you ever learn! This makes my blood boil!!! The very same thing has happened to countless 172s over the last couple of years!!!

Is it a replacable part, it looks like it might be bolted on. I bent it back and it stayed reasonably straight next time but im worried it may slip off the jack.

had mine repaired under warranty......crap job tho so bought a trolly jack.

Its simple stuff like this that really pisses me off about this car!!

Come on Renault......SORT IT!!

Mine did the same...

The jack left a nice hole in my driveway too...

Dealer says theyre all the same, and not to worry...

I use the rear beam and front jacking points.

havent have this with mine but a couple of mates have had the jacking points go like that.

yeh mine started to do the same, so i dropped the car back down and put a piece of wood behind it, then did it again and it was ok

ive got an industrial trolley jack which has a large foot with a rubber pad. i use the factory jacking points mostly. you be better to keep a cheap trolley jack in the car and a bit of wood. just use the original jacking points and the wood will protect it (put it between the car and the jack foot)

yes, it happened to me, the dealer bent it when they were fixing (unsuccessfully) a knocking from the suspension. I didnt notice for ages, took it back and got them to fix it ( was a bit of a bodge job).

Took it back a couple of weeks a go and they bent it again, didnt bother to tell me either.

Use a tolley jack and a block of wood.

you could use an inflatable jack. that what my dad did for glass fibre kit car

admit this is a metal car and should cope with jacking!!!

Mine also collapsed a few weeks ago, I was using a proper trolley jack  it really is poor and im suprised that Renault havent been sued over an injury or death due to the failure of the supposed official jacking points !

  Ford Fiesta

how does a piece of wood work? doesnt the jack have to fit in the jacking point?

stupid this, dreading getting a puncture, no spare tyre and if you want to jack it to change tyre you bend your car!

want to know how to do it so it wont bend, and so i can tell dealer when they need to change tyres.
